Taking a break from trading? Instead of cancelling, you can pause your VPS for 1, 2 or 3 months. Your server, files and setup are kept exactly as they are, and you pay a small monthly fee instead of your usual price. When the pause ends, everything picks up where you left off.
How to pause
Log in to your QuantVPS dashboard.
Go to the Billing tab.
On the subscription for the server you want to pause, click Manage, then Pause.
Choose 1, 2 or 3 months. A hibernation fee applies. The dashboard shows the dates and the fee before you confirm.
Click Pause my subscription.
You'll also see the pause option if you start to cancel from the Billing tab.
What happens during a pause
The pause starts at the end of your current billing month. You keep full use of your VPS until then, because that month is already paid.
Your VPS is powered off while paused, so you can't connect to it. Your files, platforms and settings stay on the server.
A hibernation fee applies for each paused month, charged on your normal renewal date. The dashboard shows the exact amount before you confirm.
When the pause ends, your normal price is charged on your renewal date and your VPS is powered back on automatically.
Cancel or end a pause
You start a pause from the Billing tab, but you cancel or end it from your server in the dashboard.
Before the pause starts: Cancel Pause
Log in to your dashboard and open the Control Panel for the server.
Click Cancel Pause.
The pause is removed. Your VPS stays on and your normal billing carries on as before.
During the pause: Resume now
Log in to your dashboard and find your paused server.
Click Resume now. The dashboard shows the amount before you confirm.
Your VPS is powered back on and a new billing month starts that day.
If a pause fee isn't paid
Your VPS stays off until the invoice is paid. Paying it keeps the pause in place.
Who can pause
Pausing is available for active subscriptions on monthly billing. It isn't available:
on annual plans
if the subscription is already set to cancel
while an upgrade or migration is in progress
on custom servers
