Creating & Sending Pre-Inspection Forms

Use QuoteIQ Cam’s built-in inspection forms to document job conditions before work begins and protect your business from false claims.

Updated over a month ago

Pre-inspection forms are digital checklists you fill out on-site to document the condition of a property before starting any work. They can include photos, notes, checkboxes, ratings, and more — all stored under the customer’s file in QuoteIQ.

🧰 How to Create and Send a Pre-Inspection Form

Step 1: Open QuoteIQ Cam

From the dashboard, tap into QuoteIQ Cam.

Mobile On Left - Desktop On Right

Step 2: Tap “New Inspection Form”

Select Create Inspection Form.

Step 3: Fill Out the Form Details

Once inside the Inspection Report screen, you’ll see a few key sections:

  • Customer Details

Use the dropdown to select an existing customer or press “+ Add New Customer” if needed.

  • Technician Name

You can enter the name of the person performing the inspection. Use the toggle to show or hide this from the final report.

  • Property Pictures

Use this section to upload general photos of the job site. These are separate from photos attached to specific inspection points. You can choose whether these are visible to the customer by toggling “Show” on or off.

Step 4: Choose a Template

Right underneath the property pictures section, there’s a dropdown menu where you can:

  • Select a prebuilt template (like a pressure washing pre-inspection)

  • Or click “Create new template” to start building a custom one from scratch

Once a template is selected, it will populate the form with its inspection points.

Step 5: Complete the Inspection Points

Once your template is loaded, you’ll see a list of inspection points.

Inspection Point response types:

  • Yes/No – great for confirming a task was completed or a condition is present

  • Textbox – for open-ended notes or technician comments

  • Checkbox – for multi-item checks (e.g., “Select all that apply”)

  • Rating – for scoring the condition of a surface, equipment, etc.

You can also:

  • Tap the camera icon to attach photos to any point

  • Tap the pencil icon to update/change the inspection point

  • Use the trash icon to remove the point from this inspection

  • Add additional notes (Bottom of Form)

  • Add Photos (Bottom of Form)

Everything here is flexible. You can even hide specific points from the customer using the toggle switch, while still saving them for internal documentation.

Step 5: Send the Inspection Form

Once finished:

  • Tap the Share or Send icon at the top

  • Choose whether to send via text or email

  • The customer will receive a clean, professional PDF copy of the form

You can also archive it or revisit it later under your Inspection Archive.
