What Are Proposals?
A Proposal turns any estimate into a full, branded sales document. Instead of a price list, the customer opens a page that tells your company's story, shows the services you're quoting with descriptions and photos, includes any documents they need to review, and closes with your customer reviews — with the estimate's pricing and approval built in.
Proposals were added in the August 2026 update, extended in September 2026 with editor screens for each section and a reusable library, and in late September 2026 the customer's view became one scrolling page with a side menu that jumps to each section.

What a Proposal Contains
About — your company story, who you are, and why a customer should trust you
Services — the services on the estimate, with descriptions
Photo gallery — before-and-after shots, past work, or photos from the property
Documents — contracts, warranties, terms, or anything the customer needs to read (this is the section where you can require initials)
Reviews — your customer reviews, pulled into the document
Pricing and approval — the estimate itself, with the accept and sign actions
Each of the About, Reviews, and Services sections has its own editor screen, and a library lets you save section content once and reuse it across proposals — so your company story is written once, not retyped on every job.
How It Works
Create the estimate as you normally would (see How to Create & Send an Estimate).
Attach a proposal to the estimate and choose a template — or build the sections from your library.
Preview the proposal exactly as the customer will see it.
Send the estimate. The customer scrolls through the proposal on one page, using the side menu to jump to any section, and approves — signing and initialing where you've asked them to.
Any proposal can be saved as a template for the next job.
How the IQ Credit Charge Works
Proposals cost 100 IQ Credits per estimate, taken once — the first time a proposal is attached to that estimate. After that, switching templates, editing the proposal, and re-sending the estimate cost nothing further. The charge is tied to the estimate, not to each send.
Free on the trial, Elite, and Max. Proposals are free during your 14-day trial and included at no credit cost on the Elite and Max plans. Essentials, Beginner, and Pro pay the 100 IQ Credits per estimate from their monthly allocation.
Signing a Proposal
Proposals use a per-field signing flow: the customer consents to sign electronically, adopts a signature and initials, and then signs or initials each field you've placed. Initials can be required on Documents sections only.
If you edit an estimate after sending it, any outstanding signature request on it is voided automatically — the customer signs the current version, never a stale one.
A customer's signature and initials survive an edit made after signing.
Once signed, the estimate PDF is marked "Accepted" and Download PDF gives you the signed version.
Standard estimate e-signatures are unchanged and remain available on every plan — see E-Signatures.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which plans include Proposals?
All of them. Proposals are available on Essentials, Beginner, Pro, Elite, and Max. The difference is the credit charge: Elite and Max (and every trial) include them at no credit cost; Essentials, Beginner, and Pro pay 100 IQ Credits per estimate.
Am I charged every time I send the proposal?
No. The 100 IQ Credits are charged once per estimate, the first time a proposal is attached. Re-sending, editing, or switching templates on that estimate costs nothing more.
Can I reuse my company story across proposals?
Yes. The About, Reviews, and Services sections each have an editor, and the library saves that content for reuse. You can also save an entire proposal as a template.
Can I add several photos or documents at once?
Yes. Selecting several photos or documents adds all of them.
Where can I require initials?
On Documents sections. That's where contracts, warranties, and terms live, so that's where an initial makes sense.
What does my customer see when they open a proposal?
One scrolling page with every section in order, plus a side menu that jumps straight to any section, so it's easy to read and sign on a phone or computer.
What happens if a proposal fails to publish?
You'll see an error code. Send it to support at support@quoteiq.io or text (912) 913-7154 and we'll trace it.
