Updated over 2 weeks ago

Importing donations into Raise More helps maintain a complete and accurate fundraising history, especially when data has to come from external tools. This ensures that all donor activity is recorded in one place, giving you better visibility into giving patterns and campaign performance. Consistent records also make it easier to generate reports, recognize returning donors, and plan future outreach. A reliable import process also reduces manual data entry and the risk of errors. Instead of entering each donation individually, users can bring in large batches of data quickly and efficiently.

There are two methods using which you can import donations into Raise More as follows:

1. By importing donations data from a spreadsheet

2. Through ActBlue Sync

Which fields are mandatory when importing donations from a spreadsheet?

Raise More can import data from over 90 columns. Although it’s a good practice to include as much relevant donation information as possible, only four fields are compulsory for a successful import. The rest of the fields are optional, including many custom fields which you can specify according to your own requirements. Mandatory fields include:

  • Date

  • Amount

  • Donor First Name

  • Donor Last Name

If any of the mandatory fields is empty, Raise More will highlight the missing values in red during the review process. You can either fill in the missing details in the spreadsheet and upload again or manually change these values in the review screen. You can also export rows containing errors or missing information to Excel for further review by clicking Export -> Export error rows to Excel from the review window.

Tip: If you don’t see your imported donation records in the Donations page, it might be because a corrupted or invalid format spreadsheet was uploaded when importing. If that happens, try uploading the file from a different device or another version of Excel. You can also download a sample Excel file from the upload screen by clicking the blue Download Excel template button.
