How do I see a donor's lifetime giving total?

Raise More adds up every donation on a donor's record for you. You can see the running total two ways: on the donor's own profile, or as a column on the People table when you are looking at a whole list of donors at once.

See the total on a single donor's profile

  1. Open the donor's profile (click their name from the People table, a list, or search).

  2. Scroll to the Donations section.

  3. At the top of that section you will see a line that reads Total: $X.

That Total is the sum of every donation amount recorded on this person. Each individual donation is listed underneath the total, with its amount and date.

See totals across many donors at once

If you want to compare lifetime giving across a list of donors, use the People table.

  1. Go to the People page.

  2. Click the gear (settings) button above the table on the right. It shows a count of how many columns are visible, like (12/40).

  3. In the column list that opens, turn on Total Donated.

The Total Donated column shows the sum of all donation amounts for each person, so you can sort or scan your whole list by lifetime giving.

While you are in that column list, you can also turn on related columns:

  • Largest Donation - the single biggest gift on the record.

  • # Donations - how many separate donations are recorded.

  • Average Contribution - the average gift size.

  • Cycle Donations Total - the sum of donations that fall inside your campaign's set cycle dates. This only fills in if your organization has campaign cycle start and end dates configured.

What counts toward the total

The total is built from the donations recorded on the donor's record. That includes donations entered by hand, donations brought in through an import, and donations that flowed in automatically from ActBlue or Stripe.

To add a donation by hand and have it count toward the total:

  1. Open the donor's profile.

  2. In the Donations section, click the plus icon next to the Donations heading.

  3. Fill in the donation amount and details, then save.

The new donation is added to the list and the Total updates.

A note on refunded donations

If a donation has been refunded, it shows up in the donor's Donations list with its amount crossed out and a Refunded badge next to it. The refunded amount is still included in the Total figure and in the Total Donated column. The total reflects the gross amount given, not the net after refunds.

If the total looks wrong

The total only counts donations attached to that person's record. If a gift is missing, it was likely recorded under a different profile for the same donor. Check for a duplicate record and merge them so all giving rolls up under one profile. If a gift is still missing after that, reach out to support.
