How do I see donations that haven't been thanked yet?

Raise More does not have a built-in "thanked" status on donations. There is no thank-you checkbox, no thank-you date field, and no thank-you disposition. So there is no single filter you can flip to show only un-thanked gifts out of the box.

What you can do is track thank-yous yourself using donation tags, then filter the Donations table on those tags. This article explains the closest real workflow.

What is available today

On the Donations page (left navigation, then Donations) you get a table of every donation in your account. Each donation has these tools in its row actions menu:

  • Edit

  • Manage Tags

  • Delete

There is also a Tags column on the table showing the tags applied to each donation. Refunded donations show a red Refunded badge next to the amount.

The Manage Tags action is the piece you use to track thank-yous. You apply your own tags to a donation, so you can create a tag like "Thanked" and add it to a gift once you have thanked that donor.

Step 1: Create a "Thanked" donation tag

  1. In the left navigation, open Donations, then click Donation Tags in the sub-menu.

  2. Click Create.

  3. Type a tag name, for example Thanked, and save it.

You only need to do this once. After that the tag is available to apply to any donation.

Step 2: Mark a donation as thanked

  1. Go to the Donations page.

  2. Find the donation you have thanked the donor for.

  3. Open that donation's actions menu and choose Manage Tags.

  4. In the Manage Tags dialog, add your Thanked tag.

  5. Click Save.

The tag now appears in the Tags column for that donation.

Step 3: Find donations that have NOT been thanked yet

The Donations table filter builder can exclude donations by tag. The tag field is labeled Donation Source in the filter builder.

  1. Go to the Donations page.

  2. Open the filter builder above the table.

  3. Click the button to add a filter group and choose Remove records. This creates a "REMOVE:" group, which excludes any records that match its rules.

  4. Inside that group, add a rule on the Donation Source field.

  5. Choose an operator such as has any of and select your Thanked tag.

The table will then show only donations that do not carry the Thanked tag. That list is your set of donations still waiting on a thank-you.

You can combine this with other donation filters to narrow the list further, for example by Amount, Date of Donation, or Recipient Committee.

A second option: log a thank-you on the contact

If you would rather track thank-yous on the person instead of the gift, you can record it on the donor's profile.

  1. Open the donor's contact profile.

  2. Add an interaction (a logged note) recording that you thanked them, with the date.

This does not flag the specific donation. The donation-tag method above is the cleaner way to see which gifts still need a thank-you.

What to keep in mind

  • This is a manual process. Raise More will not automatically mark a donation as thanked. You apply the tag yourself after you send the thank-you.

  • New donations come in without any thank-you tag, so any donation without your Thanked tag will show up as not-yet-thanked. That is what makes the filter work.

  • If you import donations or receive them through ActBlue, they also arrive with no thank-you tag, so they will correctly appear in your not-yet-thanked list until you tag them.

If you need a true thanked/not-thanked status built into Raise More, contact support to request it.
