How to Create a Recurring Membership Product
Updated over 4 months ago

A Recurring Membership product on Rally.Fan allows you to charge your audience on a recurring basis, offering them exclusive content, resources, or interactions as part of their membership.

This is a great way to create a steady income stream while providing ongoing value to your loyal followers.

What is a Recurring Membership Product (AKA Communities)?

A Recurring Membership product is a subscription-based offering where members pay a recurring fee—whether daily, weekly, monthly, or annually—to access exclusive content or services.

This could include anything from newsletters and coaching sessions to digital products and online training videos.

Steps to Create a Member Community Product

1. Add a New Product

  • Go to your Rally.Fan dashboard and select the "Store" tab.

  • Click on the "+ Add Product" button.

  • Choose "Recurring Membership" from the product options.

2. Customize the Thumbnail

  • You’ll now have the option to edit the thumbnail that will appear on your storefront. This includes customizing the style, image, and text to make your product stand out.

3. Edit the Checkout/Landing Page

  • Next, personalize your Checkout Page. Choose a header image, add a compelling title, and write a description that clearly explains what your membership offers. This page is crucial as it’s the first thing potential members will see.

4. Set Up Your Membership Pricing

  • Now it’s time to decide how much to charge for your membership and how often.

    • Price ($): Set the amount you want your members to be charged each billing cycle.

    • Discounted Price ($): If you want to offer a special discount, toggle this option on.

    • Recurring: Choose the frequency of the billing cycle—daily, weekly, monthly, or annually.

    • Cancel Subscription After: Decide if you want to set an auto-cancellation date for the membership. If left off, members will continue to be charged until they cancel.

5. Finalize Your Options

  • Decide what information you want to collect from your customers during sign-up and add any additional fields if necessary.

  • You can also add customer reviews to your product page to build trust and show potential members the value of your community.

6. Edit the Confirmation Email

  • Customize the confirmation email that members will receive after they subscribe. This email should include important details about their membership and a link to access the community.

7. Publish Your Recurring Membership Product

  • Once everything is set up, click "Publish" to make your membership community live.

Recurring Membership Ideas

Here are some ideas for what you could offer as part of your membership community:

  • Monthly Group Coaching Calls

  • Exclusive Access to a Membership Community

  • Online Training Videos

  • Weekly or Monthly Newsletters

  • Access to Digital Products like Ebooks or Guides

  • A Combination of the Above

Recurring Payment Types

Members will be automatically charged at the start of each billing cycle, which you can set as daily, weekly, monthly, or annually. For example, if someone subscribes on February 15th, and you’ve set a monthly billing cycle, they’ll be charged on the 15th of every month.

You can also set a duration for the membership, such as auto-canceling after a certain number of months, giving you flexibility in how you manage your community.

Managing Your Members

  • To view and manage your active members, go to the "Audience" tab on the left-hand side of your dashboard.

  • Use the filters to select "Active Subscription" and choose the specific membership you want to view. This will display a list of all active members.

Success Tip
To automate your workflow, use Zapier to connect Rally.Fan with your email marketing tool (like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or Flodesk). Automatically add new members to your exclusive email list when they join and remove them if they cancel their subscription.

Important Notes

  • Bi-weekly recurring payments are not supported at this time.

  • You cannot set a specific billing date (e.g., the 1st of every month).

  • If you cancel your Rally.Fan account, you will need to manually cancel all your members’ subscriptions to prevent them from being charged.

Creating a community with our Recurring Membership Product on Rally.Fan is a powerful way to build ongoing relationships with your audience while generating recurring revenue.

Follow these steps to set up your membership product and start growing your community today!
