Online Renewal Settings

Under the Membership tab in Association Settings, Organizations can use the setting below to control whether members with terminated/canceled memberships are able to renew online.

An additional setting is in place to allow or prevent members from editing their membership if there is a previous discount in place. This setting can affect staff as well if they are not assigned a discount level.

Online Renewal Workflow

When logged in to their online account, members with a terminated membership will now see ‘Renew Membership’ under the ‘Manage Membership’ dropdown.

Members with a past due balance, however, will see a warning, preventing them from renewing their membership until the balance has been paid.

After selecting 'Renew Membership', members will see a modified version of the current workflow available to staff. They will be able to add/view member available promo codes/discounts or addons, change their home branch, and set up billing.

If the discount is expired, members will be forced to remove the discount. If members are allowed to edit their membership with a discount already in place (see setting above) and the discount is not expired, then the previous discount can be used with the renewed membership.

Renewal will be blocked if they do not meet membership type requirements or if the membership type is not available online or for reactivation.
