New Analytics Feature

To help you better understand how your music is doing, we've designed a new analytics feature. This gives you a clearer, more detailed view by bringing together key performance data from multiple streaming platforms that show you trends over time and how listeners are engaging with your releases. You can also easily share these data to your collaborators.

This feature is in its beta phase and is available to select customers. We're working on making it available to everyone soon. Currently, you’ll find visualizations for important metrics like:

  • Streams

  • Royalties

Soon, we will add more data to help you make smarter decisions about promotion, release timing, and audience engagement. We are still fine tuning things and if you have any feedback or suggestions, please email us at support@recordunion.com.

To help you get started, we’ve put together answers to some common questions.

Where does the data come from?

We collect data directly from the platforms where your music is streamed. This allows us to give you the most accurate, up-to-date picture of your performance across services.

Reporting date

Your streaming and royalty data is reported to us by the platforms where your music is available. Most services send these reports on a monthly basis, and payments are made to you shortly afterward.

However, some platforms operate on a different reporting schedule:

Quarterly Reporting:

  • 7digital

  • NetEase

15-Month Reporting:

  • Facebook & Instagram

These timelines are set by the platforms themselves and may affect when you receive your royalties. You can read more about when royalties are added to your balance here.

How often is the data updated?

Analytics includes data from two sources: daily trend data and monthly reporting data. This means some graphs are updated daily, while others are based on finalized monthly reports, so you might notice slight differences between them.

  • Daily data comes from streaming platforms and is updated every day with a typical 2-day delay. This powers trend-focused graphs, helping you track things like streams and listener activity almost in real time.

  • Monthly data is based on official reports sent by platforms once a month. These reports are used for royalties, all-time stream counts, and other finalized figures.

Because these two data types come from different sources and update on different timelines, some variation between graphs is expected.

How sharing analytics work?

You can easily share access to your Analytics data with collaborators right from your dashboard.

To share, go to the release or individual track you want to share and click the share button to invite your collaborators. They will receive an email invitation prompting them to create their own Record Union account if they don’t already have one.

When sharing, you have full control over what data is visible. You can choose to include or exclude financial information depending on what you want your collaborators to see.

Collaborators receive read-only access through their own accounts. This allows them to monitor performance in real time without needing to request updates or screenshots, making collaboration smooth and efficient.
