If you are particularly proud of the Canvases you have on your Spotify page, and maybe also aware of how important it is to be sharing your content across all your platforms, then we have good news - you can now add your Canvas video loop to your Instagram Stories - and get your followers on Instagram to click through and listen on Spotify to your music.
In order to do this, you need to:
Already have access to Canvas.
Have claimed your Spotify Artist Page and be using the Spotify for Artists app
In your Artist profile, each track accompanied by a Canvas has a 'Share' icon next to it; tapping on that will let you share the song, and its Canvas, to your Instagram Stories. Your post will look like a regular Spotify share, with cover art and a link to play the track on Spotify - only now, your Canvas will be the backdrop. (Audio will not play on Instagram.)
Fans seeing the Canvas on Instagram will not be counted in Canvas metrics unless they click through to Spotify.
Reasons you should use Spotify Canvas and share them in Instagram Stories
Great way to highlight new releases
Good for previewing/teasing music videos/video content
Spotify claim that "Adding a high-quality Canvas has increased track shares by up to 200 percent, in addition to lifts in streams, saves, and artist profile visits; bringing them to Instagram is another way for artists to connect their platforms and extend their reach even further."
