You can now automatically send SMS and Emails with Sequences! Use these automations to automatically follow up with your team of new leads as soon as they come in.
These actions can also be used to notify your team. Enter in your own phone number or email and receive notifications so you truly never let a lead slip through the cracks!
Both SMS and Email events are intended to be used for leads only, not prospecting or cold emailing.
Sending SMS using Sequences
Before setting up the SMS events in sequences there are few important details to note:
All SMS messages would be sent through your carrier. You will need to purchase and integrate with smrtPhone, Twilio or Plivo in order to use this feature.
Please be responsible with the setup, we do not limit the amount of texts you can send on our end. You'll still need to comply with A2P 10DLC. Sending large volume of SMS at once can affect your connectivity and spam rates.
SMS and Emails in Sequence Actions will be sent immediately when the sequence is triggered. If you are wanting to set up delays between texts, for example following up with Not Interested owners 90 days after a status change, you will need to use Drip Campaigns instead.
Under the Send To section you can choose to send to the following phone number types:
Primary phone number - This is the phone number marked with the star and is typically used to indicate the correct number for the main point of contact.
All phones marked as correct - all phone numbers with a correct phone status, indicated by the checkmark. If you have multiple correct numbers, for example one correct number for the owner and any additional owners or relatives it will send the same text message to each.
Custom Phone Number - this is a custom phone number. When selecting this option you'll need to type in the phone number you want to send to. This is best used for notifying yourself, or team members when new leads come in.
You can format your SMS text with:
bold, italic, underline, strikethrough
bullet points
numbers
Typing the @ symbol will bring up a list of the following variables:
Owner First Name
Owner Last Name
Owner Full Name
User First Name
User Last Name
User Full Name
Property Full Address
Property Address - street address
City - property city
State - property state
Zip Code - property zip code
*Note: User name fields will be filled with the user who created the sequence.
Sending Email using Sequences
In order to automatically send emails you will first need to integrate with gmail. Check out this article for integrating:Gmail Integration
This is not intended for cold emailing. Best practices for emailing using sequences is for leads or records where you have already confirmed the correct email address.
In the Action step, select Send Email. Fill in your subject line and select the from email address.
Under the Send To section you can choose to send to the following email types:
Primary email - this is the email address marked with the star as primary.
All emails marked as correct - these would be the emails with the checkmark for verified.
Custom email - this is a custom email address. When selecting this option you'll need to type in the email you want to send to. This would is used for notifying yourself, or team members when new leads come in.
Next step is composing your email.

Adding SMS or Email to Existing Sequences
Our default account setup includes sequences for Lead Management, Acquisitions, and Transactions. To add SMS or Emails to existing sequences, just open the sequence you need to edit:
Then click Make Changes.
Select Add new Action:
And add send SMS or add Send Email. Compose your message and click Save Changes when complete.
