Our Zapier integration can be used to connect your REISift account with other apps that we may not have a direction integration with. The Zapier integration is available on all plans.
REISift is an Action in Zapier, meaning we can receive data from another platform or app that allows for a trigger.
Currently we aren't able to send information from REISift to another app using Zapier (trigger) however we plan to add additional Zapier options in the future so keep an eye out! 👀
Getting Started
To set up the integration you will need an REISift account and a Zapier account. If you have not created a Zapier account yet, please head over to zapier.com and create an account.
Next, click here -> Zapier Integration Private Invite Link to accept the private invite.
Note: REISift is a private app on Zapier, you will need to accept the private invite link in order to set up the integration. Because we are a private app, you won't see REISift as an option when searching apps that work with Zapier, however we CAN integrate with zapier through the private invite link.
Creating a Zap
Once you've clicked the private invite link, select Accept invite and build a Zap.
To get started, select create a Zap.
Trigger
The first step of the Zap is going to be the trigger. The trigger is the app or platform you want to send information from. Search for and select the app.
Next, select the Event (this is what starts the Zap).
Action
The Action is the REISift step of the zap. Search for REISift and select the latest version of the app.
Now select the Event, or the action that you want to be completed from the trigger.
Possible Actions:
Event | Description |
Add Lists to Property | Adds the specified lists to a property. |
Add Phone Status to Owner's phones | Adds the specified phone status to phones using mailing address |
Add Phone Status to phones | Adds the specified phone status to phones using phone number only |
Add Phone Status to Property's phones | Adds the specified phone status to phones using property address |
Add Phone Tags to Owner's phones | Adds the specified phone tags to phones using mailing address |
Add Phone Tags to Phones | Adds the specified phone tags to phones using phone number only |
Add Phone Tags to Property's phones | Adds the specified phone tags to phones using property address |
Add Status to Property | Adds the specified Property Status to properties. Includes Custom Statuses. |
Add Tags to Property | Adds the specified lists to a property. |
Assign user to Property | Assigns the record to the selected team member in your account |
Create Owner | Creates an Owner Record only using owner information |
Create/Update Property | Creates a new property or updates an existing property |
When updating Property Status you can select to update to a default property status or a custom property status you have created in your REISift account.
The New Lead default property status is now available to select on version 1.0.17 of Zapier or later.
If you are using a previous version, you can reconnect to use the new version or select the Custom option under property status and type in new_lead
Any Custom Property statuses can be added or updated through the zap by selecting the Custom tab under property status, and typing in the status exactly how it appears in your REISift account. Zapier will attempt to search the trigger for the status you type. If the status does not exist in the trigger it will return "no results found", next click the link to use the status you typed in:
Integrating Your Account
After clicking continue, select Sign In.
After signing in you'll be prompted to enter in your API Key. Navigate to the Settings -> Integrations -> Zapier section of your REISift account, and click to copy the API key.
Note: Clicking the eye icon allows you to view the api key. The blue refresh button generates a new api key. If you generate a new api key you will need to update your API key in Zapier to match.
Next, paste the API key in Zapier and click Yes, Continue to REISIft.
After clicking continue, you'll finish out the information you're wanting the Zap to update. Each action you select will have required information. Please complete all required fields before continuing.
Using Sequences with Zapier
Sequences are looking for a change to happen after the property record is created. If you are sending new records to your REISift account with the triggering event from a sequence you created, it will NOT trigger the sequence.
The triggering event, whether it be status, tag, list, etc must be added after the property record is created.
A workaround for this is to add a separate event to your zap, after the create/update property event. For example, if you are sending new leads to REISift and set up a sequence to trigger when the property status changes to new lead, do not update the property status in the create/update event. After you've filled in all other information you want to send in the create/update event, click the plus sign and add a new event for Add Status to Property.
Changing the status in a separate event allows the status to be be changed AFTER the property record is created so the sequence can be triggered.
See a video example here.
Troubleshooting Errors
If you are seeing errors, you can view more details of the error on the right sidebar of the zap.
Some common errors include:
Authentication Credentials Not Provided
This happens if the API key is not correct, or does not match what's in your REISift account. To fix, Navigate to the Settings -> Integrations -> Zapier section of your REISift account, copy the API key and update the API key in Zapier.
Phone number, address, email, or other information not in the correct format
Check the information being entered or mapped. For Property Street, we are expecting street address only, for emails and phone numbers they will need to be in the correct format. Including letters in the phone number field will cause an error.
The app returned not found
Adding lists, tags, property status, phone numbers, phone status, phone tags looks for the record to already exist in REISift. If the record does not exist, the app will return "not found" and will be unable to update. If you are looking to send a new property, use the Create/Update Property action instead.
The app returned Enter a valid email address.
Check the "Assign to" section in the zap. If you are trying to assign a record to an REISift user in the zap, you will need to enter the email address associated with their REISift account and not their name.
