If you verify income through your bank or payroll, we use secure third-party services (Plaid for bank, Pinwheel for payroll) to handle the connection. Your login credentials go directly to those services — Rent Butter never sees or stores them.

The connection is one-time. After your income is verified, we don't have ongoing access to your bank or payroll account.

Identity verification is conducted by Rent Butter directly — we don't use a third-party identity service. Your ID and any supporting verification photos are stored securely as part of your application.

Your application data is shared with the property manager who invited you, so they can make a decision on your application. We retain data according to and as required by applicable laws.
