How to enter your current rental

What each field on the current rental form asks for and how to fill it in correctly.

Your current rental info helps the property manager understand where you live now and how long you've been there. Here's what each field is asking for.

Housing Provider Name

The "housing provider" is whoever you currently pay rent to — most often your landlord or a property management company. Enter the name as it appears on your lease.

Housing Provider Phone Number

The phone number for your housing provider. The screening team uses this to verify your rental history.

Length of time you have lived there

Pick the option that fits from the dropdown — Less than 6 months, 6 Months–1 Year, 1–2 Years, 2–3 Years, or 3+ Years.

Total Monthly Housing Costs

Enter your monthly rent. Include any recurring charges that are part of your rent payment — parking, pets, etc.

Reason For Leaving

Pick the option that best fits from the dropdown. Choices include lease ending, needing more space, job or school relocation, buying or selling a home, and others. If none fit, choose None of the above.

If you don't currently rent

If you own your home or live with family, you'll still fill in these fields. See the related articles in this section for what to enter.
