Can I use a bank account I don't use for my paycheck?

Why connecting the right bank account matters and what to do if you have multiple accounts or none of them receive your income.

Bank verification works by looking at deposits in the account you connect. If your paycheck doesn't go into the account you're connecting, we won't find your income there.

Connect the account where your income lands

Pick the account where your direct deposits, gig platform payouts, or recurring income transfers actually arrive. That's where we'll find the deposits to verify.

If you have multiple accounts

If your income is split across multiple accounts (e.g., a portion to checking and a portion to savings), connect the account that receives the largest portion of your income. You can usually connect another account too if you have multiple income sources.

If you connected the wrong account

If you connected an account that doesn't show your income, look for the option to connect a different bank from the income verification step. If you can't find it, contact your property manager β€” they can help reset that step.

What if my income doesn't go through any bank account?

If you're paid in cash, by paper check, or through a method that doesn't deposit into your bank, bank verification isn't the right method for that income. Use document upload instead β€” pay stubs, tax returns, or signed statements.
