Each section of the application asks you to verify something — your identity, your income, and (optionally) your rental history. If you're missing what's needed for one of these sections, here's what to do.
Identity verification
You'll need a government-issued photo ID. Accepted forms include:
Driver's license
State ID card
U.S. passport
Permanent resident card
If you don't currently have any of these, you'll need to get one before you can complete this step. Contact your local DMV or the relevant state agency for options.
Income verification
You don't necessarily need documents to verify your income. Two of the three options don't require any uploads:
Bank connection — Connect your bank account and we verify income from your recent deposits. No documents needed.
Payroll connection — Connect your payroll provider and we pull your pay stubs directly. No documents needed.
Document upload — If neither connection works for you, upload pay stubs, tax returns, 1099 forms, or benefit award letters.
If you receive government benefits (Social Security, SSI, unemployment, disability), those count as income — verify them through bank connection or by uploading a recent benefit statement.
Rental history (optional)
Verifying your rental history is optional. If you choose to do it, you can connect your bank to show rent payments or upload documents like a lease or canceled checks. If you don't have either, you can skip this step.
If you're still stuck
If you've reviewed the options above and still can't move forward, contact your property manager directly. They can tell you whether they accept alternatives or whether your application can be paused while you obtain what's needed.
