What bank statements do you accept?

Which bank statements we accept, what they need to show, and which accounts you can use for savings.

Written by Joe Wigoder

We always need your own bank statements for the most recent 3 consecutive months. If you're using savings or family support, we'll also need statements for those accounts.

What we accept

  • The original PDF statement downloaded from your online banking

  • Scans of genuine paper statements or bank letters

  • Accounts held at any bank, in any country, currency or language

What we can't accept

  • Screenshots or photos of a banking app

  • Documents that have been edited in any way

  • Translated versions. Please send the original language.

What the statements need to show

  • The account holder's name

  • The account number or reference

  • A running balance across the whole period

  • The most recent 3 consecutive months

Which accounts can I use?

For savings, we can accept current accounts, savings accounts and fixed deposits. Students and their family members can also use stocks and shares and wealth management products.

Can I use more than one account?

Yes. Balances across several accounts, and across several family members, can be combined.

What if my balance isn't enough?

We'll email you with exactly what else we need, including the specific amount, so you know what to send.
