Overview
Your Success Folder includes QR codes for both internal and external use. These QR codes are essential tools for promoting your RepeatMD app and streamlining the patient experience in your practice.
When creating printed materials, whether from scratch or using our templates, it’s important to know which QR code to use and when. Each code plays a unique role in the patient journey:
Internal QR Code: Opens the app, allowing patients to check in and earn a visit toward their rewards.
External QR Code: Directs patients to the app, but does not allow them to check in.
Because each code serves a different purpose, we recommend using them at distinct stages of the patient experience.
This article will walk you through:
When to use the Internal vs. External QR code
Best placement examples for each
What not to do (hint: never post these on social media)
By using the correct QR code in the right context, you’ll drive more app downloads, improve patient check-ins, and create a seamless experience from start to finish.
Note: These QR codes are not approved for use on social media. Keep reading to learn why.
When to Use Each QR Code
Internal QR Code
This QR code lets patients check in and earn a visit toward their reward. Use it on in-practice signage where patients are already engaging with your team or checking in.
Best for:
Treatment rooms
Front desk check-in signs
External QR Code
Use this for any public-facing print materials where you want to drive app downloads.
Best for:
Handouts at community events
Counter cards or giveaway rack cards
Patient financing rack cards
A-frames outside your practice
This QR code links patients to your app for sign-up only. It does not allow them to check in or earn a visit toward rewards.
Never Use These on Social Media
These QR codes are built for print. They are not optimized for digital channels, especially not public platforms like:
Instagram Stories
Facebook posts
Your website
Email newsletters
Instead, use your app link to direct users to your app. To find it (along with convenient short-link versions), go to your admin panel and navigate to: App Builder > Home > App Links.
Best Practices & Pro Tips
Print in high resolution. Use the files in your Success Folder for the best quality.
Label your materials. Add “Scan to Download Our App” near your QR code so patients know what to do.
Test it first. Always scan your printed version to confirm it opens the correct experience.
FAQs
Q: Can I customize my QR code with my own design?
A: The design around the QR code can be customized, but do not crop, edit, or resize the QR code itself. Always use the original file from your Success Folder.
