Browse and shop the Patient App on desktop and tablet

Learn how patients can browse, discover, and shop the Patient App from a desktop — including browsing without an account.

Overview

The Patient App now offers a smoother, more flexible experience on desktop and tablet screens, making it easier for practices and patients to browse, discover, and shop from a larger display. Patients can also explore the app and shop without logging in — they only need to sign up or sign in once they're ready to add something to their cart.

Before You Start

  • Guest browsing lets a visitor explore the Patient App's Home and Shop tabs, search the catalog, and view full item details without creating an account.

  • An account is required to add an item to cart or complete checkout — that's where the sign-up prompt appears, not at the end of checkout.

  • Signing in also unlocks things guests can't see, including member/discount pricing, Rewards and Wallet progress, and referral rewards.

  • The larger-screen layout applies the same catalog and browsing experience to desktop and tablet — feature availability depends on whether a patient is signed in, not which device they're using.

How It Works

Entering as a guest: Guest browsing lets a visitor explore the Patient App's Home and Shop tabs, search the catalog, and view full item details without creating an account.

What guests can do: Browse Home and Shop, search the catalog, and open full detail pages for treatments, products, packages, and memberships — on phone, tablet, or desktop.

What requires an account: Adding an item to cart, completing checkout, and viewing member/discount pricing (shown to guests as Members Only until they sign in). Rewards, Wallet progress, and referral rewards also require an account.

Desktop and tablet: The same browsing and shopping flow scales to larger screens, so patients get a consistent experience whether they start on their phone or a computer.

Viewing as a patient from the Admin Panel: Using View app as [patient name] on a client's profile opens the Patient App in a new browser tab. Since that tab runs in your desktop browser, staff previewing the app this way naturally see the same larger-screen layout patients get when they browse on a desktop or tablet.

Best Practices and Pro Tips

  • Share your app or shop link anywhere — social media, your website, email — since visitors can start browsing without downloading the app or creating an account first.

  • Let prospective patients explore before you ask for a sign-up. The catalog, pricing, and details are visible to guests; only cart and checkout require an account.

  • Set expectations at the front desk: patients can look around freely, but they'll be prompted to sign up the moment they try to add something to their cart.

FAQs

Q: Can a guest complete a purchase without an account?

A: No. Guests can browse and view items freely, but they're prompted to sign up or sign in as soon as they try to add an item to cart — before checkout, not during it.

Q: What's different for a guest vs. a signed-in patient?

A: Guests can browse Home and Shop, search, and view item details. Signing in additionally unlocks member/discount pricing, cart and checkout, Rewards and Wallet, and referrals.

Q: Does browsing without login work differently on desktop vs. mobile?

A: No. What a patient can see and do depends on whether they're signed in, not the device or screen size they're using.
