My QR code is not working, what should I do?

Troubleshoot a QR code that will not scan, opens the wrong app link, or does not add a visit—also called a broken QR code or QR check-in not working.

Use this guide when a RepeatMD QR code will not scan, opens the wrong destination, or does not produce a visit check-in. These are different problems; do not replace the code or grant a visit before checking which one applies.

Identify the code and the problem

If the conversation does not already establish it, ask one question: “Which QR code are you using, and what happens when you scan it?”

Check the expected result

An Internal QR code is for use inside the practice and supports app check-in and visit credit. An External QR code is for app download and sign-up; it does not support check-in or visit credit. A successful scan of an External code will not add a visit.

If the code will not scan

Use the original QR print file from the practice’s Success Folder. Check the printed proof on more than one mobile device. Do not crop, edit or recolor the code. Confirm that the printed image is clear and complete.

If the destination is wrong or will not open

Compare the destination with the practice’s actual App Links under App Builder → Home → App Links. For digital channels, use the practice’s App Link rather than a QR image. Do not invent a generic link pattern.

If the issue remains

Continue in the same support conversation. Support should collect the code type, expected outcome, actual result and checks already completed, then investigate the destination or check-in problem. Do not claim a visit was credited or the code was fixed without checking the result.

For setup and printing instructions, see “Use your RepeatMD QR codes (Admin Panel).”
