Patients with memberships redeeming their monthly treatment (Patient App)

Overview

This article explains how patients redeem their included monthly treatment using the Patient App. It’s written for practice owners and managers who want to understand the exact patient flow—from choosing a treatment, to booking, to redeeming in the practice—so they can confidently guide patients and troubleshoot questions.


Before You Start

  • This flow applies to treatment-based memberships.

  • Included monthly treatments are never auto-added—patients must choose their treatment each month.

  • Redemption does not happen at booking. Patients redeem in person by scanning a QR code at the practice.

  • Rollover behavior depends on how the membership was configured:

    • If rollovers are on, unused monthly treatments carry over.

    • If rollovers are off, unused monthly treatments expire.


Step-by-Step Instructions

Patient chooses their included monthly treatment

  1. The patient opens the Patient App.

  2. They tap Wallet (bottom-right of the screen).

  3. At the top, they select the Memberships tab.

    • If a monthly treatment is available, a red notification indicator appears next to the Memberships tab.

  4. The patient scrolls to their monthly treatment section.

  5. They tap Choose your benefit.


Patient selects a treatment

  1. The patient selects one treatment from the available list.

    • Once selected, this choice cannot be changed.

  2. The patient taps Select.

  3. A confirmation screen appears showing the treatment has been added.

  4. The patient taps View my treatments.


Patient books their appointment

  1. The patient is taken to Wallet → Treatments.

  2. They find their newly added treatment and tap Book.

  3. The patient schedules their appointment with the practice.

Booking reserves the appointment only. The treatment is

not redeemed


Patient redeems in the practice

  1. When the patient arrives for their appointment, they open the Patient App.

  2. They go to Wallet → Treatments.

  3. They tap Redeem next to the treatment.

  4. The patient scans the QR code provided by the practice to complete redemption.


How It Works

  • Each month, eligible members can choose one included monthly treatment.

  • Once selected, the treatment is added to the patient’s Treatments wallet.

  • The treatment remains available until it is redeemed or expires, depending on rollover settings.

  • Patients must:

    1. Choose the treatment

    2. Book the appointment

    3. Redeem in person via QR code

  • Redemption always happens in the practice, never during booking.


FAQs / Troubleshooting

Q: What if a patient chooses a treatment but doesn’t book right away?

A: The treatment stays in their Treatments wallet until it’s booked and redeemed (or expires, if rollovers are off).

Q: Can a patient change their selected treatment?

A: No. Once a treatment is selected, it cannot be changed.

Q:What happens if a patient misses the month?

A: If rollovers are on, the treatment carries over. If rollovers are off, the treatment expires.

Q: How does the patient know a treatment is available?

A: A red notification indicator appears on the Memberships tab in the Wallet.
