We get it - life happens.
Whether it’s illness, a family emergency, a packed work schedule, a holiday, or just the need for a breather, there are plenty of reasons why you might need to take a step back from your sleep retraining program. And here’s the good news: that’s completely okay.
Breaks Are a Normal Part of the Process
This program isn’t about being perfect - it’s about being realistic and sustainable in your approach. It’s designed to fit into your life, not the other way around. A short break of a week or two isn’t going to undo your progress.
In fact, learning to take care of yourself without guilt is an important part of building a healthy relationship with sleep. Many people need time off along the way - it’s not a setback, it’s just part of the process.
What If I Need a Longer Break?
Even if you need to take a longer break, you won’t be starting from scratch when you return. Why? Because you’ve already started learning the core principles that will help you get rid of your insomnia. Your mindset has already begun to shift and your brain has had the chance to start taking on the changes. Think of it like building muscle at the gym - even if you stop going for a while and lose what you've built up, it's much easier to put the muscle back on once you start going again.
You Already Have Built-in Flexibility
While we can't "pause" your program once it has started, we know real life can be unpredictable. That’s why all memberships include buffer time - so if you need to take it a little slow for a few days or have a week off, that’s already accounted for within your membership. You will still have time to complete all your lessons once you're back. You’re not behind, you’re just doing what’s right for you. Taking care of yourself always comes first!
It’s also important not to rush this process. Everyone’s journey looks a little different, and there’s no "right" timeline to reach your sleep goals. That’s why we offer monthly rolling extension plans at the end of your membership - so if something unexpected happens, you can continue accessing support for as long as you need it. Try to take the pressure off yourself and remove any expectations of how quickly you must complete the program. Listen to your body and take a break if you need, we'll be here for you when you come back!
