✨ When You Need This Guide
Use this guide if you're trying to:
Allow or block patients from canceling appointments through the Aloha Scheduling App
Enable or disable rescheduling options for patients online
Control which appointment types can be rescheduled and how far in advance
Make sure your settings save correctly in Aloha

✅ Turn On or Off Patient Appointment Cancellation
You can decide whether patients can cancel their own appointments in the scheduling app.
Go to the SCHEDULING tab in your EHR or Aloha dashboard
Click the SETTINGS page
Look for the section labeled CANCEL APPOINTMENTS
Use the toggle to select YES (to allow) or NO (to disallow)
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click SAVE DEFAULTS
🔒 If "NO" is selected, patients will no longer see the option to cancel their appointments online.
🔁 Enable or Disable Patient Rescheduling
Want to let patients reschedule, but only on your terms? You can do that too!
Go to the SCHEDULING tab > SETTINGS page
Find the setting labeled RESCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS
Use the toggle to choose YES or NO
Click SAVE DEFAULTS at the bottom of the page
Then, click the button labeled Set Appt Type Schedules
5. On this page, find the appointment type you want to edit
6. In the Rescheduling column, use the dropdown to choose when patients are allowed to reschedule (ex: 24 hours before, anytime, etc.)
✅ No need to click save here—settings save automatically!
🎉 You'll Know It Worked When:
The cancel/reschedule options show (or disappear) in the patient-facing app
Your selected appointment types reflect the updated rescheduling rules
You see a confirmation message or no errors after saving

What You Might Notice | What to Check |
