Creating a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) chart is a powerful way to visualize the performance of different metrics over two distinct periods.
This guide will take you through each step to create a KPI chart in our Reports module, ensuring you can easily navigate our platform and make the most of the diverse widgets available.

Accessing the Reports Module
The journey to creating your KPI chart begins in the Reports module:
Step 1: Navigate to Reports
There are two ways to create widgets and add them to Reports.
i. You are already on the Reports module. Click Edit Report from an existing folder.
ii. Go to the Reports module, click the 'New Report' button to create a new Report, and add widgets to the maximum limit of 20.
Folder creation
i. Users can add Reports to a Folder by choosing from the previously created Folder or creating a new one from the Folders tab on the Reports module.
Step 2: Widget Addition
Click on Add Your Widget.
Step 3: Create Custom Widget
Select Create Custom Widget.
Adding the KPI Chart Widget
Our platform offers flexible options for adding a KPI chart to your report:
Step 4: You have three choices for adding a KPI chart: use a pre-existing template from 'Select your templates,' choose from the 'Select from the Revlitix templates', or create a new widget by selecting 'Create Custom Widget.'
Customizing Your KPI Chart
Customization is critical to creating a chart that meets your needs:
Step 5: Assign a name to your KPI chart widget for easy identification later and save it.
Step 6: From the 'Widget Type' dropdown, select 'KPI Chart.' The 'Widget Description' explains why this chart type was chosen.
Setting Up Your Data
Choosing the correct data and time frame is crucial for your KPI chart:
Step 7: Pick the channel name from the list of available integrated channels.
Step 8: Select an Object that corresponds with your channel's data.
Step 9: Select 'Date' from the dropdown menu for the Date Field.
The selected choice denotes the ETL date.
Step 10: Choose 'Time Range' to specify the period you are analyzing.
Step 11:
Determine the date range for comparison by selecting choices from 'Compare To.' This lets you view the KPI values and the difference for the specified time frame.
The different Compare Date Ranges are 'Custom Period,' 'Previous Period,' and 'Year Over Year.'

The custom period in the 'Compare To' date range allows you to define a specific timeframe for comparison, ensuring a tailored analysis based on your unique requirements.
Previous Period:

The previous period in the 'Compare To' date range automatically selects the timeframe immediately preceding your current selection, enabling quick and consistent comparisons.
Year Over Year
Year Over Year
The Year-over-year option in the 'Compare To' date range compares data from the same period in the previous year, highlighting annual trends and changes.
Step 12: Select KPI
Choose the specific KPI you wish to analyze the changes in values between the two different time frames.
Step 13: Comparison Change
Choose between two choices for the comparison change:
i. Absolute Change
ii. Percentage Change.

Absolute Change refers to the simple numerical difference between the two values, showing how much one value has increased or decreased relative to the other.
Percentage Change
Percentage Change
Percentage Change measures the degree of change over time, expressed as a percentage. It shows how much a value has increased or decreased over time.
Advanced Settings:
AI Prompt:
The AI Prompt field allows users to enter a customized instruction or query that guides the AI in generating a tailored response.
This flexibility empowers users to receive highly relevant and actionable summaries or information based on their input.
Exclude Data for Weekends:

Tick the checkbox to exclude weekends from the chart.Include Weekend Data
Leave the checkbox unchecked if you want weekend data to be included in the chart.
Saving Your Template
For future ease, saving your configuration is advisable:
Save as Template:
If you'd like to reuse this chart configuration in the future, select the "Save Template" option.
Check the 'Save Template' option to reuse your configuration for future reports.
Following these structured steps, you can create a KPI chart that effectively visualizes your key metrics and highlights the performance differences between the two periods.
Once this is complete, the User must click the 'Create Widget' button to finish creating a KPI Chart.
The newly created chart will be added to the list of widgets.

Choose from the global and custom filters to apply to the config. Create a Custom filter and check the 'Save in Filter Library' to convert them to Global Filter.
Create a new filter by selecting the channel and object as they are based on the same.
