How to Create Cohort Analysis for a Multi-Object with a Unique Key

Generating a cohort analysis for multiple objects can provide valuable insights. Follow these steps to create a comprehensive cohort analysis using a unique key.

Step 1: Start a New Report

  1. Go to View Reports: Open the Reports section from your main menu.

2. Click 'New Report': Start a new report by clicking the 'New Report' button.

Step 2: Add Widgets

  1. Add Your Widget: To add widgets to an existing report, click 'Add Your Widget.'

2. Select a Template:

a. Create Custom Widget: Click 'Create Custom Widget' to make a new one.

b. Select from your templates: Choose from previously saved widgets.

c. Select from the Revlitix templates: Choose from pre-built templates for convenience.

a. Create Custom Widget: Alternatively, create a new one by selecting 'Create Custom Widget.'

Step 3: Set Up Your Widget

  1. Enter Widget Name: In the space provided, provide a name for your widget and click the 'Save' icon.

2. Choose Widget Type: Select 'Cohort Analysis' from the 'Widget Type' options.

3. Provide Description: Enter a description in the 'Widget Description' field.

4. Choose Channel Name: Select the channel name for which the cohort analysis is being prepared. The platform currently supports Salesforce.

Step 4: Configure Object Types

  1. Select Object Type: Choose between 'Single Object' and 'Multi Object' from the Object types.

2. Select Multi-Object: If you select 'Multi-Object,' you need to:

  • Choose a Primary Object and a Funnel Stage.

  • Choose a Secondary Object and a Funnel Stage.

Step 5: Link Objects with a Unique Key

  1. Enable Unique Key: Answer 'Yes' to the question, 'Is there a unique key to link these objects?'

2. Provide Commonality Link: Ensure there is a common link between the primary and secondary objects by selecting the appropriate field in the 'Field Name' dropdown.

3. Add More Fields: You can add more fields to reflect the commonality between the objects.

Step 6: Set Time Range and Aggregation

  1. Choose Time Range: Select the time period for which you want to view the cohort analysis.

2. Select Aggregation: Choose from the aggregation options: 'Weekly,' 'Monthly,' and 'Quarterly.'

Step 7: Preview and Customize

  1. Preview Chart: After providing the necessary configuration details, a preview cohort chart will be available.

2. Switch Views: Toggle between charts and graphs using the switch button.

3. Show Totals: Check the 'Show Total' checkbox to view the total.

Step 8: Save and Create Widget

  1. Save Template: Check the box to save this template and the configuration for future use.

2. Create Widget: Click 'Create Widget' to save the widget to the Reports for future reference.

By following these steps, you can create a detailed cohort analysis for multi-objects, utilizing unique keys to link data effectively. This setup will help you gain deeper insights and make data-driven decisions.
