Introduction

The purpose of the Analytics Data View feature is provide a simple user interface for searching and filtering the underlying PHA data which drives the Risk Alive analytics.

This article will cover the following:

  • Accessing the Analytics Data View feature

  • Data View Table explained

  • Filtering PHA data

  • Exporting PHA data

  • Copy/Paste PHA data

Accessing the Analytics Data View feature

The Analytics Data View feature is currently available from your company Dashboard which lists all analytics reports available to your organization.  To open Data View, simply select any report or multiple reports by clicking the checkbox to the left of the desired reports.  The Dashboard Pop-out will open and Data View can be accessed via the "Data View" button. The "Data View" button will open a new tab in your browser.

Figure above shows the Dashboard Pop-out menu with Analytics Data View button.  This menu is available when one or more reports are selected via their respective check box in the Reports list.

Data View Table Explained

The Analytics Data View table is opened in a new tab and includes a left hand navigation menu and Welcome header which includes the name of the PHA being viewed.

Global Filter

Analytics Data View includes the ability to filter across any and all columns shown in the table.  Simply enter search criteria in the Global Filter bar and the system will filter results in the table as you type.  The Global Filter will match the text you type with any text in any field whether that text occurs at the beginning, middle or end of the text.

Data can also be filtered by entering text into each column header filter bar.  Similar to the Global Filter, the Data View table will automatically filter as you type.  Filters can be applied to multiple columns and the system will use "AND" logic to filter results.  For example, if in the Safeguard Description column a user were to enter "PSV" and in the Deviation column the user entered "High Pressure", the table would return scenarios in which both of these conditions were present.

More complex filters can be applied by clicking the filter icon to the right of the filter bar.  In this example we see how a user can filter Safeguards which include the text "PSV" OR "PVRV".

Other functions specific to each column can also be accessed by clicking the symbol on the right side of the column header.  This will open a menu with three options:

Column Sizing:
This menu allows the user to Pin, Autosize and Reset column widths.

Column Filtering:
This menu provides the same functionality related to filtering as was covered above.

Column Show/Hide:
This menu allows the user to show/hide columns in the table.

Exporting PHA data

Data can be exported to CSV format at anytime by clicking on the Export button to the right of the Global Search bar.  The Export button will generate a CSV file including all data shown in the table at the time it was clicked, meaning, if filters were applied, the filtered data only will be exported.

Copy/Paste PHA data

The Data View table also supports Copy/Paste functionality including the ability to include headers.  Simply click and drag your mouse to include the table cells you want to Copy, then right-click to open the table menu.  Make your selection from the right-click menu then paste into any application (Microsoft Excel works the best).

Many more features related to Analytics Data View are planned.  Watch for update notifications.
