Sometimes a scheduled job may finish without any time being recorded in the app. This often happens if you forget to hit "Start Job" or if your roster changed and you didn't work.

Even if no time is recorded, the booking remains in the system. You must resolve these "Expired Jobs" so the hiring company knows whether to process payment or close the booking.

When does a job expire?

Road Ninja automatically marks a job as Expired if the timer is not started by a specific deadline. This occurs if:

  1. The scheduled end time passes without the job timer being started.

  2. For jobs with a "minimum hours guarantee" but no specific end time, the job expires on the following calendar day.

  3. You have another job scheduled to start within one hour.

When a job expires, we send it to the 'Completed jobs' section within 'My jobs' for further management:

How to resolve an expired job

Expired jobs are moved to your Completed Jobs section. You must take action on them to finalise the status.

  1. Navigate to My Jobs.

  2. Tap the filing icon (top right) to open Completed Jobs.

  3. Locate the expired job. You will see two options: Log Hours or Cancel Job.

Option 1: Log Hours (If you worked)

Use this option if you completed the work but forgot to use the app timer.

  1. Tap Log Hours.

  2. Enter your actual Start and End times manually.

  3. Upload your logbook photo as evidence.

  4. Submit the job to the company for review and payment.

Option 2: Cancel Job (If you did not work)

Use this option if you did not perform the job (e.g., due to a roster change or day off).

  1. Tap Cancel Job.

  2. Confirm the cancellation when prompted.

  3. The company is notified that the job is cancelled and no charge will be applied.
