In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to set up, manage, and update your tracking links inside Rootabl. These links are what your affiliates will share to drive traffic to your pages — whether it’s a webinar, freebie, or sales page. You'll also see how to customize destination URLs without breaking links, where to view click data, and how to ensure your pages are properly integrated for accurate tracking.
Step-by-Step Instructions: Managing Tracking Links in Rootabl
1. Access Your Campaign
When you log into Rootabl, you’ll land on the Campaigns dashboard.
Click into your campaign and open the campaign checklist or access tabs directly (like Promo Materials or Affiliates).
2. Add or Edit Tracking Links
From the Promo Materials tab or the Campaign Checklist, click Add Tracking Links.
Create a new link by adding a label (e.g., “Makeup 101 Sales Page”) and the destination URL (e.g., yourdomain.com/salespage).
You can add multiple links — for example:
A webinar registration page
A free tutorial page
A direct-to-sale page
3. Customize Destination URLs
Need to update a destination (e.g., change from sales page to waitlist)?
Go to Promo Materials, find the link, and edit the destination.
This does not change the affiliate’s tracking link — it only updates where it redirects.
This is helpful when reusing a link but changing where it goes behind the scenes.
4. Preview the Affiliate Promo Area
Click Preview Affiliate Promo Area to see what your affiliates see.
Affiliates can:
Grab their unique tracking links
Save them to a spreadsheet or notes app
Use them immediately to start sharing
5. Understand How Clicks Are Tracked
A "click" = one unique visit within 30 minutes.
Example: If someone clicks the same link twice within 30 minutes, it counts as one click.
To test multiple clicks, use a new incognito window for each attempt.
6. Ensure Your Pages Are Properly Integrated
To track conversions from a link, the destination page must have the Rootabl tracking code installed.
Go to Business Settings > Onboarding Checklist > Integrate Platforms to add tracking to all relevant tools (e.g., WordPress, Kajabi, Mighty Networks).
This tracking system gives you flexibility and control — you can reuse links, update destinations, and give affiliates everything they need without sending new links every time.
