Overview
You can add contacts to your campaigns by importing a CSV file containing highly targeted people for your outreach strategy. You can also include email addresses at the time of import or add them later to enrich existing contacts, so that those contacts are included in your Email sequences.
1. Import Contacts (with or without Emails)
1.1 File requirements:
Custom Fields (optional): Optional columns used for hyper-personalisation in message templates, allowing unique values per contact. Learn more about hyper-personalization here.
First Name (header required, data optional): The column must be present, but values can be left blank if unknown.Last Name (header required, data optional): The column must be present, but values can be left blank if unknown.
LinkedIn URL (header and data required): Must start with
httpsand be a valid LinkedIn profile URL (e.g.,https://www.linkedin.com/in/taylor-mcclaine/).Email (optional): Include if available (e.g., support@salesflow.io). Both the column and values are optional.
Column Order: The order of columns does not matter.
Only LinkedIn profile URLs are accepted, Sales Navigator URLs are not allowed.
File Type: The file must be uploaded as a CSV (MS-DOS) file with 5000 contacts maximum
Duplicates are not allowed across campaigns; therefore if the system detects that you are adding members that are already in another campaign, it will notify you about these duplicates and it will not import them.
1.2 How to Import the .csv file
Head over to the campaign you'd like to import the file to.
Click the Add Contacts button.
Click Import from .CSV.
If you need a template, click the download button on the screen that appears.
Click Choose File, select your file, and click Import.
Important: Contacts will be imported with a not verified status, which is completely normal. Once the system starts visiting the profiles on LinkedIn, the status will change from not verified to not connected. Click here to know more about campaign members' statuses.
2. Import Emails to Enrich Already Imported Contacts
If a contact doesn't have their email available on their LinkedIn profile, or you'd like to assign a different email to an existing contact, you can import emails separately via CSV to enrich contacts already in a campaign.
2.1 File Requirements
Email (header and data required) - e.g., support@salesflow.io
LinkedIn URL (header and data required): Must start with
httpsand must be the same as the url that the contact has in the Salesflow campaign.Column Order: The order of columns does not matter.
2.2 How to import the file into the campaign
Click the campaign you would like to make the import to
Go to the Campaign Members tab, and click the Actions button
Click Import Emails by .CSV
Once you click there, this screen will show:
Click Choose File, select the file to upload and click import.
Your Imported emails will be visible in the Campaign Members overview:
6. Once the contacts are imported, they are added with the Not verified status. When the campaign runs, the system visits the LinkedIn urls, verifies the contacts, and populates their information.
