If I register to vote in Texas, does that mean I can be called in for jury duty?

Each Texas county builds its jury wheel by combining two lists: the voter registration lists for all precincts in the county, and county residents who are U.S. citizens and hold a valid Texas driver's license or DPS-issued personal identification card. Duplicates between the two lists are merged, so being on both does not increase your chances of being summoned. Keeping a Texas license or ID can trigger a state jury summons even if you never register to vote. Federal courts sometimes use voter rolls, so Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) registration may lead to a federal summons — though you can often be excused if you live abroad.
