Building a New Scorecard

How to create and build a new scorecard using the new scorecard builder.

Written by Jane Lydon

This article walks through the 6 steps in building a scorecard from scratch using the new scorecard builder.

1. Create the Scorecard

  • Navigate to the Scorecards tab and select New Scorecard on the right side of the page:

Note: Scorecards can be assigned to individual groups, multiple groups or All Groups.

2. Add the First Question

The new scorecard will be empty, giving you a prompt to add your first question:

  • Input the first question in the text box, and click +Add Question.

  • The question will be added to the default Question section. It can be moved to a different section later if required.

  • Continue to add questions and re-organise later, or add sections next.

  • For further detail on adding and configuring scorecard questions, see here.

Note: Questions must belong to a section. They can be organised and moved between sections. Once questions are moved out of the default Question section, the section will be removed automatically to ensure a tidy scorecard layout.

3. Organise Sections and Questions

a) Create sections to group related questions

  • Type the section title in the text box labelled 'New section name...'

  • Click +Add Section.

  • If applicable, tick the box to mark the section as a compliance section. The scorecard type will remain default if the box is unticked.

  • Click here for more information on section types and setting up scorecard sections using the new builder.

b) Reorder questions and sections

  • Reorder questions:

    • Drag questions within or between sections, or by clicking the three dots to the right of the question and selecting Move up, Move down or Move to section... from the dropdown.

  • Reorder sections:

    • Drag sections to reorder the scorecard, or by clicking the three dots to the right of the section box and selecting Move up or Move down from the dropdown.

4. Configure Questions

  • Click a question to open the edit sidebar. The sidebar has four tabs:

    • Text

    • Answers

    • Tip

    • Rules

    • Causes

5. Finalise Scorecard Details and Settings

Once questions and sections are added and configured, finalise the scorecard details and settings.

a) Edit details

  • Click the Edit details button to update:

    • Name

    • Category

    • Groups

    • Description

    • Location

    • Target

  • Scorecard details and version are shown across the top of the scorecard page.

b) Scorecard Settings

  • Click the Settings button to open the settings page and configure how the scorecard should behave.

6. Checks and Preview

  • Review the score summary panel on the right side to confirm the max points, pass target and section weightings are accurate.

  • Work through the authoring checks list on the right side of the scorecard builder. For more information on authoring checks, click here.

  • Click Preview to see the scorecard as evaluators will. Unlike the new scorecard builder, the scorecard page remains in the classic format.

  • If building an AI scorecard, click Preview AI Auto Scoring to test the scorecard on an interaction.

  • Once finalised, lock the scorecard to prevent further changes.

Note: The option remains to switch to the classic scorecard builder if desired.
