The Sharesies platform provides access to investments listed on:

  • the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

  • Nasdaq

  • Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE)

  • Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)

  • the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX).

The difference between companies and ETFs

Companies: when you invest in a company on the Sharesies platform, you’re picking a specific company you want to buy shares in. All the money you invest at any one time, minus any fees, gets invested into that specific company, and buys you a portion of ownership into that company.

ETFs: an ETF is a fund you can invest in. ETFs may invest in a group of companies or sometimes even other funds. ETFs are traded on a stock exchange.
