This guide shows you how to set up upsell placement—on the cart, checkout, or both.

In this guide, we'll walk you through how to set up your upsell placement—whether on the cart, checkout, or both.

🛒 Cart upsells are perfect for encouraging product discovery and sampling, helping customers explore more options while they shop.

💳 Checkout upsells are great for driving impulse purchases and last-minute add-ons, catching attention right before the order is placed.

By customising where your upsell appears, you can tailor the shopping experience to maximize both AOV and customer satisfaction.

Step 1: Start by locating the Upsell tab and then click on it.

Step 2: Then, we select Create New to establish a new group

Step 3: Now, let's give your new upsell group a name.

Step 4: Select the products you want to include in this upsell group.

➡️ Note: You're allowed to select up to five products for a single group.

Step 5: After selecting the products, click Save.

Step 6: Review the products and then click Continue.

Step 7: Now, let's define the cart conditions that will activate your upsell strip.

You have the option to display the upsell strip when the cart contains a specific item or variant or when it contains a particular collection.

In this example, we select to show the upsell group when the cart contains a particular item or variant

Step 8: Add the items or variants that trigger the upsell strip.

Step 9: Once you've added the items, click Continue.

Step 10: Here, you can get a preview of what your upsell group looks like.

Step 11: This is where you select the upsell placements.

💡 You can choose to show your upsell on the cart to boost product discovery, on checkout to drive impulse buys, or on both.

For this tutorial, we're choosing both.

Step 12: Click Create Group and your upsell group is ready.

Once created, you can view the group conditions, edit the group setup, and decide whether to disable or delete the group.

By viewing the group conditions, you'll see when the upsell strip will show based on the items in the cart.

Congratulations! Your upsell is now live.
