Configure DLAs (Designated Lending Authority) for your Assessors

A Lender is able to configure team DLA attributes which can be linked to Assessors to control participation in assessment activities.

In your Omni workflows, you are able to configure DLA (Designated Lending Authority) logic that will then check and control how your team-members participate in assessment activities. The DLA logic will ensure that team-members with the correct rights and skills are completing activities and making credit decisions.

The DLA functionality allows you to:

  • define a set of 'attributes' that characterise a skillset or type of application

  • group those attributes into DLA 'groups'

  • assign team-members to particular DLA groups

  • tie DLA groups to particular assessment activities (ie must be in a DLA group to be able to complete that activity).

Configure your DLA Groups (Attributes)

Available DLA Attributes

Simpology has an extensive set of pre-defined Attributes, based on typical industry DLA rules, that you are able to configure.

(If you require a new Attribute, this will require scheduled development work).

The DLA attributes are based on application characteristics and/or skills of your team-members such as:

  • loan amount, or total applicant exposure (across all credit products)

  • LVR of the application

  • Serviceability indicator outcomes (eg maximum DTI)

  • security or application type (eg company title, commercial, business lending, SMSF)

  • applicant type (eg company/trust, guarantor, self-employed)

  • type of Simpology Journey (eg Easy Refi)

  • cash out

  • credit report attributes (eg defaults, adverse RHI, credit score)

πŸ“– A complete DLA Group and Permission Template is available from Simpology.

Define your DLA Groups

You are able to define as many DLA Groups as you require (there is no limit).

For each Group, you will define the Attribute values that characterise that DLA Group.

As a simple example:

These Attributes/Groups will then define if team-members can or cannot participate in assessment activities for applications with the defined attributes.

Define when to validate DLA permissions (at which application status/es)

Define when (at which assessment status/es) Omni will check the DLA rules/groups to ensure that the Omni record is allocated/worked on by a teammember in the correct DLA group.

Generally, the DLA Logic of a lender is set to be checked only on the 'Decision' Statuses - such as Conditional, Formal, Decline

To do this, you need to review your configured Application Statuses, and tick "Validate DLA" on sub-statuses that you want to trigger a check of the DLA rules:

Go to the Status Setup

Your sub-statuses are found in Simpology Manager/Account/Setup/Application status setup:

When you get to this page, you will see your list of sub-statuses:

Update sub-status configuration with "Validate DLA"

For any of the sub-statuses that you want to trigger a check of the DLA rules, click the edit button on the sub-status listing and on the Setup page, tick "Validate DLA". Click Save.

If an application gets to this sub-status, Omni will check the DLA Group for that User. If the User does not meet the DLA criteria, they will get an error telling them to assign the deal to a teammember that has sufficient DLA:

Add DLA Group settings to your Team-members User Profile

Once your DLA Groups have been configured in your channel, you will then be able to update team-member User Profiles with membership to particular DLA groups.

Update User Profile

To update a team-member's profile with a DLA Group, go to Organisation/People:

And navigate to the particular team-member you would like to add to a DLA Group:

On your team-member's User Profile, go to the Roles and Permissions Section, and in the DLA Group dropdown, select the DLA Group you would like to add this User to:

Click Save to finalise the update to the Profile.
