Omni is the Simpology Assessment Module.
When an application is submitted, it will create a record in Omni.
The Omni Assessment workflow is made up of a set of Processes that must be worked through to get from submission through to settlement.
A new Omni record will be allocated to an assessor, with the first Process in triggered.
The assessor will complete the first Process, which will then trigger the second Process, and so on.
Process completion can also change the status of an application.
This article describes in detail these functions, and how to configure your Assessment workflow.
Overview and concepts
Omni can be understood as the interplay between three key components -
Component | Summary |
1 Application Status | The current state of the application within the loan processing lifecycle |
2 Action Process | The overarching activity being undertaken within the current status |
3 Action Item | The individual tasks needing to be completed within the associated with the action process |
As an application is submitted, it will trigger a status (eg Application submitted). This Status will then trigger an Action Process and/or set of Action Items.
An Omni Assessment Process is a set of tasks (Action Items) that must be worked through to satisfy that stage of the assessment workflow. A Pass (or Fail) of an Process will generally trigger:
a change in status Status
a new Process (and set of Action Items) that needs to be completed
In it's simplest form, an Omni workflow is:
Status 1, which triggers Process 1 (with a set of Action items/tasks)
Pass (or Fail) of Process 1 which then triggers:
Pass: a new status and Process 2a (with a set of Action items/tasks)
Fail: a new status and Process 2b (with a set of Action items/tasks)
Pass (or Fail) of Process 2 which then triggers:
Pass: a new status and Process 3a (with a set of Action items/tasks)
Fail: a new status and Process 3b (with a set of Action items/tasks)
and so on.
In more sophisticated terms, any and each Process or individual Action item can have rules configured against them so that they will only appear conditionally in your assessment flow, based on the characteristics of the application. eg
This means that you can create endless 'branches' of your Assessment flows to ensure the correct actions are taken throughout assessment.
Configure your Omni Processes & Action Items
It is a good idea to first map out your Assessment Processes and Action Items in a spreadsheet before configuring. An example workflow is attached at the bottom of this article.
Follow these steps to configure your Omni Processes & Action Items:
Ensure Omni is correctly enabled in your channel. Step 1-4 in this overview article
Set-up your application sub-statuses. These need to be configured in order to 'associate' with your Omni Processes.
Configure your Omni Teams. For each Process or Action Item, you can set to auto-allocate to a Team (eg Packaging Team, Settlement Team).
