CLA Synapse Integration

Introduction

Got questions? View the FAQ section at the bottom of this article!

SKED Admin can work in tandem with the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance program, allowing your providers to access, diagnostic insights from CLA systems directly within the SKED Platform and automatically create new patients in CLA when they’re created in your EHR or Admin. Your patients can also access their scans in the SKED app.

In this article, we'll give you the necessary steps to take so that you can automatically add new patients to CLA, link existing client accounts, and allow clients to view exam reports and various scans.

To get started, navigate to the CLA Synapse by clicking the settings icon on the blue navigation bar. Then click CLA Synapse under the Integrations section.

Warning: Make sure to hit the save button at the bottom of each section to lock in any changes you made to the CLA Reports Settings.

Connect CLA Account

To get started, you will need to enter the Email address and password of your CLA account to allow SKED to integrate successfully. Make sure to save to complete this first step.

Enable New Patient Creation

If you would like your new patients to be automatically included in CLA, click this checkbox. If you have unlinked patients in SKED before this setting is enabled, you will need to manually add those patients into CLA using the Client Modal. Refer to the “Link Existing Patient to CLA” Section of this article to learn how to do this.

Display CORESCORE in App

If you’d like your patients to see their CORESCORE, click this checkbox.

Display Exam Reports in App

Click this Checkbox to allow patients to view their exams as a report, or leave it unchecked if you would only like them to be able to open the scans individually.

Display Scans in App

If you wish for your patients to view any of these scans, click the respective checkboxes to enable them. If your office doesn't use any of the scans listed here, leave the checkbox unchecked.

Link Existing Patient to CLA

For HIPAA purposes, SKED does not automatically save potential client matches for existing patients from CLA. To ensure your patients receive their scans, we recommend matching your existing patients' CLA accounts during your Re-Evaluation process (rather than processing all of them at once).

To link an existing patient to CLA, please follow the steps below:

Search for the patient using the universal search at the top, or navigate to the Client page to click on their name.

Scroll down to the CLA Reports section.

In the pop-up, use the search fields to find potential matches from your CLA account. When you identify the patient you wish to integrate, click on their name, and their patient ID will automatically populate the text field at the top. Or you can copy the patient ID from your CLA Admin site and paste it into the Patient ID field.

After selecting the correct match, be sure to click Save. This patient will now be connected to CLA integrations.

Find Patient CLA ID

Find Patient CLA ID

To find the CLA Patient ID from your CLA Admin account, follow the steps below:

  1. Access your CLA Doctor Portal** ( http://portal.insightsynapse.com/ ).

  2. In the Patients section, open your patient’s file.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. The patient’s ID can be found in the web URL: http://portal.insightsynapse.com/Patients/Edit/PATIENTIDHERE

  5. Copy only the Client ID portion of the URL.

  6. Paste into the patient ID field of the patient’s CLA reports section in the client modal

**Many offices have a shortcut installed to open the IONIC App directly on their desktop to scan/view scans/enter patients. If they are using that install, they still need to log in to the web browser doctor portal to get the Patient ID.

View Client Scans

Once your patients have been connected to CLA, you can access their scans by opening the Client Modal for a client and clicking more, then clicking CLA Reports.

You can switch between displayed reports by selecting the respective types, labeled in blue below the currently displayed scan.

FAQs

I don’t have a CLA Synapse option. How do I get it?

Please reach out to the Support team and we’ll be happy to enable this feature for you!

Does this integrate with CLA Insight?

No. At this time, we are only integrated with CLA Synapse, the software's app version.

How do I get the scans integrated?

To start, click on Settings > CLA Synapse, input your CLA email and password, and click Save. If the credentials are correct, patients and the office will be able to see scans or their patients after linking them.

Do the scans automatically link to my existing patients?

No. Due to HIPAA standards, we cannot assume one patient is the correct patient across platforms so the office will need to manually link patients who have already have a scan in CLA.

How do I link a client to their CLA profile?

Go to Clients and click on their name. Click More > CLA Reports and it will automatically search for their name, but if the patient is not coming up, try removing the first name. Click on the correct profile and then click Save.

Can SKED automatically link new patients once we’re integrated?

Yes! Go to Settings > CLA Synapse and check the box for “Allow New Patient Creation.” Any new patients created in SKED or the EHR will now automatically create a CLA profile and link them.

Can offices view CLA scans in SKED?

Yes! Once they’re linked or automatically linked, you’ll see their scans by going to Clients, Click the patient’s name> clicking More > CLA Reports.

How do I get the CLA Patient ID?

You shouldn’t need to get this information as it will automatically fill once you click on their name. If their name is not populating, try removing the first name or additional names from the last name. If it is still not coming up, you can get the patient’s ID by signing into the CLA Admin site (http://portal.insightsynapse.com/), finding the patient, clicking edit, and copying the ID in the URL: http://portal.insightsynapse.com/Patients/Edit/PATIENTIDHERE. Then paste it into SKED and click Save.

Why did it make my patient male/female in CLA?

Since SKED does not gather that information from EHRs or patients, it cannot automatically fill that information in so it will default to one of them and will need to be updated by the office.

I selected the wrong patient. How do I change it?

Once in the CLA reports section on the clients page, click the settings icon and you can search for the appropriate patient.
