Introducing SKED and App Registration

The first step your practice members will need to take is to register for the SKED app with your office. SKED has two methods for registration: the first is an email with a magic link, and the second is manual registration.

Email registration is our newer process which will save your staff time by not handing out provider information. Both registration methods still work!

Email Registration:

Step 1: First, introduce the SKED app to your currently active practice members:

  1. Go to the One-Time Messages tab in your SKED Admin and select Templates. Send your practice members the one-time message titled, Introducing SKED: How to Register (we recommend sending this message via appointment types and selecting a date range) Make sure to send the registration information as an email as it includes several links for your member’s convenience. The SMS text includes a message that introduces the app and alerts patients to look out for the registration email.

  2. Once the message is sent, your members will need to download the SKED app from their app store (again links are provided in the email for easy access).

  3. After they download the app, they will be directed, in the email, to go back to the “Registering for SKED!” email on their phone and click on the registration link in Step #2.

  4. When they click the link in their email it will redirect them to a page where they can select a registration method. Whichever method they choose to register for the SKED app, is the method they will also need to log in with.

**Please keep in mind that this registration link expires after 3 days! If a patient’s link is not working correctly, go ahead and resend them the link from your One-Time Messages tab. **

Step 2: Set up your recurring message to go out to new practice members automatically in the future:

  1. In the Automated Messages tab, find the template called Introducing SKED: How to Register, and click on the message.

  2. Next, decide at which appointment you are going to introduce the SKED app to your practice members. Ex: Doctor’s Report, Orientation, Report of Findings, or whichever appointment your practice members sign on to care.

  3. Set the time when you would like the message to go out to your practice members. Ex: 1 hour after they arrived for their appointment.

  4. Checkmark enabled, Save!

  5. Now SKED will continue to send out this message to your new practice members in the future. This will save your staff from sending out the message individually or giving out Provider ID & Barcodes/Member ID.

Manual Registration:

  1. Have the patient download the Sked.life app from the App/Google Play store.

  2. Next, they'll select the Create an account link on the login screen.

  3. The first prompt will ask for your Service Provider ID. This number is located in your SKED Admin under the Apptab on the left side menu.

  4. The next prompt will ask for the patient's Member ID, PIN, or Barcode and their last name. The Member ID/PIN/Barcode will also be on file in your EHR system.

  5. The last step is to select a registration method. Whichever method they choose to register their account with is the method that they will also need to log in with in the future.
