Genesis: Things to Know

📱 Patient Phone Numbers — How SKED Decides Which Number to Use

SKED pulls the patient's phone number from Genesis in this order:

  1. Box 4 (SMS field) — primary source

  2. If Box 4 is empty ➜ Box 3

  3. If Box 3 is empty ➜ Box 2

  4. If Box 2 is empty ➜ Box 1

Tip:
If a patient isn't receiving SKED messages or can't register — check Box 4 first. Make sure the correct SMS-capable number is listed there.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Go to patient file in Genesis

  • Verify Box 4 contains the correct phone number (mobile number recommended)

  • If Box 4 is empty, review Box 3 → Box 2 → Box 1 for accuracy

  • Save changes — allow time for sync

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Grouping / Shared Access

SKED can group family members automatically when they share the same barcode number in Genesis.

This allows one family member to:

  • Register for SKED App

  • View all linked family appointments

  • Manage appointments for the household

How to Group Family Members

  1. Open each family member’s profile in Genesis

  2. Locate the barcode field

  3. Assign the same barcode number to each family member

  4. Save changes and allow sync

Important:
All family members must have the exact same barcode value — even one digit off prevents grouping.
