How to Complete Progress Reports Using SLP Toolkit

Updated over a week ago

SLP Toolkit streamlines your progress reporting process by helping you track student data, monitor growth, and create professional reports effortlessly. 💪

Check out the video tutorial below or follow the step-by-step directions to see examples of how to complete progress reports with Toolkit.

🧩 Scenario 1: Daily Data in Action

Let’s look at our first example!

Example Goal:

Oscar will answer WH questions (who, what, when, where, why) about short stories with 80% accuracy when given no prompts, as measured by data taken over three consecutive sessions per grading period.

Throughout the quarter, you’ve been using the Daily Data feature in SLP Toolkit to track Oscar’s correct and incorrect responses. You’ve also been adding session notes to capture context — like how engaged Oscar was or what supports worked best.

When it’s time to complete progress reports, you can easily generate a report that summarizes all of this data for you!

✅ How to Generate a Data Report

  1. Go to the Reports tab.

  2. Select the Data Sorted by Goal report.

  3. Choose the student you’d like to print the report for.

  4. Select the time frame for your report.

  5. (Optional) Check the box next to “Include Graph” to see a visual of your student’s progress over time. 📊

  6. Click Generate Report.

You’ll instantly have a professional, ready-to-go report that includes all of your student’s goal and objective data — plus averages of all your data points!

💬 Scenario 2: Measure the Magic with Rubrics

Now, let’s look at another example — this time focusing on a more dynamic skill.

Example Goal:

Stella will maintain a topic of conversation for at least three exchanges using appropriate comments and questions.

For goals like this, using a simple percentage doesn’t always show the full picture. Instead, you can use SLP Toolkit’s Topic Maintenance Rubric from the Progress Monitoring Library to assess different aspects of the skill.

Each time you collect data, you can click the “Retest” button to record a new entry and track progress over time.

When progress report time rolls around, you can quickly access a summary of your student’s data by following the steps below.

✅ How to Generate a Rubric-Based Progress Report

  1. Go to the Reports tab.

  2. Select the Student Progress report.

  3. Choose the student you’d like to print the report for.

  4. Select the time frame for your report.

  5. Click Generate Report.

This report gives you both a visual summary and detailed narrative insight into how your student’s skills have developed ! 🌟
