I have a vertical configuration indoor unit, with a narrow filter access door at the bottom.  How do I place the Filter sensor?

For vertical configuration units with narrow filter access doors at the bottom, the Filter sensor may not fit behind the filter in the standard position. Use one of these alternative placements.

Option 1: Side Cabinet Mount (Recommended)

Mount the Filter sensor to the inside wall of the cabinet using its built-in magnets.

  1. Remove the filter access door at the bottom of the unit

  2. Remove the air filter from the slot

  3. Attach the Filter sensor to the side of the cabinet above the filter using the built-in magnets

  4. Replace the filter and access door

The sensor does not need to sit directly behind the filter to function properly. Side-mounting keeps it secure, out of the way of the narrow door, and accessible for battery replacement.

Option 2: Filter Sensor Accessory (If Available)

If you have the Filter Sensor Accessory on your truck, this cable-based solution allows the sensor to remain outside the cabinet entirely.

  1. Push the accessory pin through the filter material (following airflow direction)

  2. Connect the pin to the sensor

  3. Route the cable through the filter access opening

  4. Mount the sensor outside on the cabinet using its magnets

The thin cable passes through the narrow opening while the sensor stays outside for easy access.

See Filter Sensor Accessory for detailed installation steps.
