A Virtual Visit is a recorded video presentation that you create for a specific member using their actual SmartAC.com system data. It's like giving them a personalized "state of your HVAC system" report, but in video format that's more engaging and easier to understand than text alone.
Enabling Virtual Visits in Your Plan
Virtual Visits must be enabled in your SmartMaintenance Plan configuration before they can be recorded.
Note: Virtual Visits are only available for members on Hardware plans (with SmartAC.com sensors installed). Connect members are not eligible for Virtual Visits.
To enable Virtual Visits:
Go to Plans in the Partner Dashboard Settings
Create a new plan or edit an existing plan
Under Plan Details > System Inspections, check Virtual as an inspection type
Set the quantity of Virtual Visits included per billing period

Recommendation: SmartAC.com recommends upgrading to a paid Loom plan (Business or higher) for Virtual Visits. A thorough Virtual Visit covering all checklist items typically exceeds the 5-minute limit on the free Starter plan.
Before You Start
You will need:
Partner Dashboard access with Virtual Visits enabled in your SmartMaintenance Plan
Active Loom account (Business plan recommended)
Hardware member with SmartAC.com sensors installed and collecting data
Computer with webcam (or phone/tablet camera)
Microphone for audio recording
Quiet location for recording
5-10 minutes of uninterrupted time
Recording Steps
Log in to noc.smartac.com.
Go to the Members tab.
Search for the member. You can use the Virtual Visits filter to find only members who have (or haven't) received a Virtual Visit.
Click the blue Record New Visit button.
In the pop-up window, you can click Watch Example to see a sample, View Guide for instructions, or click Record to grant camera/microphone permissions and begin recording.
Configure your video and recording settings. A camera preview will appear in the bottom-left corner.
Click Start Recording. A 3-second countdown will begin.
Scroll through the member's Performance Summary, covering all relevant data points.
Click the red stop button (bottom-left) to end your recording.
Review your recording. You can watch it, delete and restart, or proceed to send.
Sending to the Member
After recording:
Click Send to Member on the Virtual Visit card
Add an optional note (up to 500 characters)
Click send
The member will receive an email with the video link and your note. The Virtual Visit will also appear in their SmartAC.com app.
