To ensure a smooth and secure testing experience, SmarterProctoring requires you to use supported hardware, software, and internet connections.

Minimum System Requirements

Operating System

Windows

Windows 10 & 11

macOS

BigSur 11 and up

ChromeOS

The latest Version of ChromeOS is recommended

Note: ChromeOS is not supported for sessions that require the use of the SecureSession Utility App

Reminder:

  • SmarterProctoring does not officially support Linux

  • Mobile phones & tablets are not compatible with SmarterProctoring

Browser

Google Chrome

The latest version of Google Chrome

Older versions of Google Chrome may be compatible, but compatibility cannot be guaranteed.

Network Requirements

Minimum

1 Mbps Down / 1 Mbps Up

Recommended

10 Mbps Down / 5 Mbps Up

Note: A wired (Ethernet) connection is recommended for maximum reliability. When connected to WiFi, it is recommended to find a testing location that is as close as possible to the WiFi router. Cellular hotspots are not recommended due to potential inconsistent network performance.
