Credentials can be created automatically by the SmartRent platform or manually by site teams. Below will detail each process.
To set up automatic credential creation on move-ins and automatic credential removal on move-out:
Navigate to SmartRent → Property → Settings → Integrations → Alloy Access → Property Settings and enable the Auto-Assign Community Access PIN and/or Auto-Assign BLE Credential settings.
Resident Move-In: When a resident has been marked as Moved-in they will be given access to any common areas that are associated with the resident user group that is configured in the Property Settings section of the Alloy Access integration.
Resident Move-Out: When a resident has been marked as Moved-out their credentials will be removed and they will no longer be granted community-building access privileges.
To manually create resident credentials:
Select Property, then enter the resident’s name into the Search for something bar.
Enter in the resident’s name (Frank in this example) and select his name from the resident's list shown below (next to Lidia’s name).
With the resident’s information displayed, you can view their current credentials as well as add new credentials by selecting the Add Credential button. In this example, Frank already has an existing mobile/BLE credential.
After selecting the Add Credential button, a window on the right side of the screen appears. Select between Generate Pin Code and Add Card/Fob. In this example, the Generate Pin Code option is highlighted and will be chosen.
Upon selecting the Generate Pin Code option, the new PIN code is created and sent to the resident’s email address and a text to their phone. The credential can be revoked at any time by selecting the red garbage can on the right side of the screen.
