How Do I Map Access Levels and User Groups?

Once you have connected SmartRent and Alloy Access, you can customize how you would like to map your access levels.

Access Level Mapping:

Access level mapping allows you to link the access levels in Alloy Access to the SmartRent user groups using these fields. Once created and selected, user records will automatically be added to the mapped Alloy Access access levels.

Default User Groups:

During the onboarding process, we will supply you with the following group types:

  • Residents

  • Maintenance

  • Staff

  • Vendors

  • Guests

  • Prospects

Building Custom Unit Groups:

In SmartRent, you will be able to view all current user groups, as well as create custom unit groups. Unit groups allow you to combine a subset of units into different groups with targeted property access controls. To create a new group in SmartRent, follow these steps:

  1. Click your desired Community

  2. Click Settings in the left sidebar menu

  3. Click Manage Access Groups

  4. Click Add Unit Group

  5. Enter Group Name (i.e. Floor 2)

  6. Select Group Types from the drop down menu (this selection is what maps the Unit Group to Alloy Access’ User Groups)

  7. Select Units from the drop down menu to be associated with the new group

  8. Click Submit
