SmartRent Manager 11.02.22

Features

Community Events in SmartRent Manager - You can now view and filter Alloy Access community events within SmartRent Manager. Users assigned to properties with the Alloy Access integration enabled can view this data on the Activity tab. The data is displayed chronologically and will be listed alongside existing device data.

Location Added to Resident Email and Push Notifications - Resident email and push notifications will now include the property’s name and unit number. Any resident email or push notification that mentions “your unit, your home, etc.” will now contain this information. This is especially useful for residents of corporate apartments who may need additional information about where a leak is located.

Resident Emails Impacted:

  • Leak Alerts

  • Maintenance Being Conducted

  • Low Battery

Resident Push Notifications Impacted:

  • Temperature Alerts

  • Humidity Alerts

  • Work Order Created

  • Work Order Completed

  • Property Staff Access Used

Resident Mobile 3.3

Features

Introducing In-App Troubleshooting! - As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the resident experience, we have introduced in-app troubleshooting. From the Support page, residents select the device with which they are having an issue. The in-app troubleshooting feature will walk them through the same problem-solving steps that a SmartRent support agent would go through, including resetting the hub, if necessary. If the steps performed by the resident do not resolve the issue, they can send a request for a support agent to contact them.

Note: This is only available for Yardi 256 locks, Honeywell T6 thermostats, and motion/contact sensors at this time. Residents can also access the tool directly from the device page.

Offline Mode is Available - We have added the ability for residents to open and navigate throughout the app even when they do not have an internet connection. Educational messages within the app will advise residents on the actions that are and are not possible at any time. Two key benefits are reducing the time to launch the app and giving residents the ability to view their access credentials at all times.

Setup Screens Include Graphics - We have added demonstrative graphics to the setup screens for scenes, automations, and schedules. These visuals will make each feature easier to understand and hopefully result in an uptick in the adoption of these features.

Dark Mode Can Be Toggled On-Demand - Dark Mode was first introduced in version 3.0. It can now be enabled directly through the app instead of relying on system settings.

Scenes Are Easier to Spot - There are a variety of shortcuts on the top of the resident’s dashboard - Home Security (if offered by the community), Activity Feed, Add A Scene, and any existing scenes. We have changed the shape of the existing scene icons so that they are easier to spot and, therefore, quicker to execute.

Dimmer Bar Is Larger - We have increased the size of the dimmer bar used to control lights and shades. This will improve the precision when updating the percent on/off or open/closed.

Support Team Phone Number Has Been Updated - We recently introduced 833-SMR-TREN (+1-833-767-8736) as the new contact number for our Resident Support Team. All phone number displays and the destination of direct-dial features have been updated.

Privacy Policy for UK/EEA Residents Has Been Added - SmartRent has created a privacy policy unique to the United Kingdom (UK) and European Economic Area (EEA). Residents who select the UK as their country of residence when signing in to the app will now be directed to this version when they tap on any Privacy Policy links.

Bug Fixes

Duplication of Automations/Schedules/Scenes - Previously, when residents would edit an automation, schedule, or scene, the App was creating a new version. With this fix, edits will update the existing version.

Display Settings Impacting Schedule Creation - When creating a thermostat schedule, residents are prompted to select their desired set point. For residents using smaller phone makes and models, the phone’s “default” display mode would cut off the cooling control making it impossible to create a schedule. With this fix, the schedule creation feature is now dynamic and will adjust to any display setting regardless of phone type.

New Code Is Misaligned - Previously, when requesting a PIN code and clicking outside of the pop-up, the code would left align instead of appearing in the center. Now, when a resident requests a new PIN code, their new personal code (and current community code if applicable) is displayed in a pop-up.
