SmartRent Manager 8.10.22

Features

Assigning Locks to Rooms in SmartRent Manager - You can now add z-wave locks to individual rooms within SmartRent Manager. If you use the multi-lease feature, you can give unit-level access to all renters within a unit while only giving room access to those renters who are assigned to a specific room. Residents will not receive access credentials for rooms they are not assigned. This feature is especially useful for Student Housing since it supports multiple leases within a unit, a leasing model that is highly used in Student Housing.

Thermostat Alert Setpoints - Your site teams can now select whether they want to receive temperature alerts and automatic work orders for either high or low temperatures. Previously, high and low-temperature alerts were tied together, so you would not be able to choose a high-temperature setpoint without creating a low-temperature setpoint as well. Now you can choose a low-temperature setpoint without having to select a high-temp and vice-versa.

Move-In/Out Error Troubleshooting - We have improved Move-In/Move-Out error messages to provide more direction to your site teams so they can quickly troubleshoot. When an error message is displayed, the user will see a “View Error” button next to the message. If the user selects this button, a tooltip will appear with the title of the error with instructions on how to resolve it.

Resident Mobile 3.1

Beta Release 8.10.22

Anticipate Full Release 8.17.22

Features

The Resident Mobile 3.0 release last month was well received. With 3.1 we are making several updates that help residents better utilize existing features.

  • Residents now receive an alert if they attempt to create overlapping schedules.

  • We added text to the Schedule button on the Thermostat screen letting the resident know what the settings are for the upcoming schedule.

  • Schedules are now listed in the order they are set to run.

  • We are preventing Recurring Guest Code creation failures by adding the maximum number of days a community allows Recurring Guest Access Passes to be active to the Code Creation description.

Bug Fixes

Near-Field Communication (NFC) Requirement Prevented Residents From Downloading Version 3.0 - This fixes an issue where phones that did not support NFC were blocked from downloading version 3.0. Residents can now download and use the latest version of the app regardless of their phone’s NFC settings.

Residents Were Being Signed Out If They Lost Service - This fixes an issue where if a resident lost service while the app was running in the background, they would automatically be signed out. Now, if service has been restored, Residents can tap the Retry button and reload the app, instead of signing in again.

Apple Pay Preventing Residents From Using Salto (Bluetooth Low Energy) Locks - This fixes an issue where residents would receive an Apple Pay pop-up that would visually block the Salto BLE Pass on their phone screen. The pop-up is no longer present, and residents can successfully unlock a door using their Salto BLE Pass.

Community Access Codes Were Not Being Presented - This fixes an issue where if a resident requested a custom access code, the confirmation card did not include their community access code. The confirmation card now includes both the new custom code to their home as well as their community access code.

Residents Could Have A Scene With No Outcomes - This fixes an issue where residents could delete all the outcomes in a Scene and still save it. Scenes allow you to adjust the settings of multiple devices with one simple tap; therefore, there must be certain outcomes (i.e. lock the front door, turn on the hall lights, etc.) associated with a Scene. Now when they attempt to delete the last outcome, they will receive a pop-up letting them know that a Scene must include at least one outcome.

Self-Guided Tours

Bug Fixes

Create a Manual Tour Without “Manage Settings” Tours Permission - This fixes an issue where certain individuals could not create a manual tour. Your site teams are now able to create a manual tour in SmartRent Manager without needing the “Manage Settings” Tours permission.
