Community Manager Web 1.89.0

Features

Community Defaults Tour Scheduling - We’ve expanded our Community Default Settings feature to now include Tour Scheduling defaults. Organization Admins who set Community Defaults for tour scheduling will have those settings automatically applied to any new property that becomes added to the organization (These defaults will not override existing community’s settings). Organization Admins can manage these settings within Settings Community Defaults Tour Scheduling. The Tour Schedule page has been redesigned but offers the same functionality as previously. Organizations can select various settings regarding tour business hours, tour durations, and post tour buffers.

Door Mode Change - This update provides site teams with the ability to view and/or control the mode of Alloy Access doors. Users can now change the mode of the door within Community Manager Web so that the door no longer requires a Pin/Fob to enter. This provides users with increased convenience as they can more easily control certain doors when necessary. Within the property level access page there is a new tab labelled Doors. This tab includes a chart with 3 columns: Doors, Mode and Actions.

Lock - The Lock action will change the mode of the door to require Fob/Pin to enter. Unlock - The Unlock action will remove the need of Fob/Pin for entry. Mode - Mode is the current state of the door (Unlocked, or requiring Access)

(It is important to note that clicking Lock/Unlock will only change the Mode of entry for the door)

Users must have Access View and Access Update permissions to view this tab and to change the mode of doors via Community Manager Web. Door Schedules will override Door Mode Controls; site teams will still need to utilize Alloy Access to control Door Schedules.

Add Credential in My Access Tab - This feature will reduce time for users as it provides a method to quickly add community credentials. Users with the Create Access permission will see an Add Credential option in the My Access tab; this will allow them to add applicable credentials for common areas at a given property.

(
Note: If no credentials are assigned, the user will not see the My Access Tab)

Yardi Automatic Move-In/Move-Out - We now provide an automated process for moving residents in and out of units for Communities with Yardi enabled. Communities can enable this setting within Integrations Yardi Property Settings. Move-in and move-outs are triggered automatically as long as the following requirements are met:

For Automatic Move-In:

  • Lease Needs to be Current

  • Resident Needs to be a Lease Signer (for non-primary lease signers, they need to have either “Spouse” or “Roommate” as their relationship

  • Move-in date is between Now and the last 14 days

For Automatic Move-Out:

  • Lease Needs to be in the past

  • Residents are moved out of Yardi

Bug Fixes

Manage Unit Groups Fix - When attempting to edit a Unit Group in which units have been deleted, users can add new units and remove the deleted ones.

Self-Guided Tours 2.50

Features

Yardi Desired Number of Bedrooms - Prospects can now enter their desired number of bedrooms within the Tours app. This will allow for coaction between our Tours app and Yardi as some Yardi configurations require this information. You will be able to toggle this feature on or off and choose whether it is required within Community Manager Web by going to Settings Tours Prospect Information. If you enable this feature, prospects will see a Desired Number of Bedrooms dropdown where they can choose between 1-5 bedrooms. We will push this information to Yardi, improving the experiences of site teams and prospects alike.

Alloy Parking 1.15.0

Features

RealPage Reservations Sync - This feature makes it easier for property managers who utilize RealPage to view accurate and up-to-date parking assignments while minimizing manual input. Now, resident space assignments and availability are automatically synced from OneSite to Alloy Parking hourly; this sync occurs in one direction with data only being pulled from OneSite to Alloy Parking. Within the RealPage Integration tab of Community Manager Web, there is a toggle labelled Enable Reservations Sync. Enabling this will automatically sync data; there additionally is a Sync Now button, so property managers can sync data at any time in addition to the automatic syncs. Property managers will now receive a message when they manually assign or unassign a space; if successful the message will read: “Successfully assigned parking space to resident. Make sure to update assignment in RealPage." Finally, to further improve the space assignment process, space assignments will be automated when a resident moves in.

Reservations Manual Move-In Workflow - This feature provides a simple workflow for site teams to add parking space assignments at the time of move-in for residents. When a resident is moved into a property where Alloy Parking is enabled, site teams will see a task labelled “Assign Parking Space(s)” in Community Manager Web. This task is optional and will not trigger an exception when incomplete. Additionally, site teams can come back to this task and manually assign parking spaces.

Reservations Resident Email & SMS - We now send residents their parking assignment via email and/or SMS when they have been assigned a space during the move-in process or when their space assignment changes. This feature will save time for site teams and provide a more efficient and effective move-in process for residents.

Resident Mobile 2.20

Features

Alloy Access BLE Reader Now Available - We have added Alloy Access BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Readers to the SmartRent list of supported devices. Alloy Access BLE Readers allow for users to access an area using an Access Pass on their phone instead of touching a keypad. Community Access Passes can be found on the home page and the My Access page of the Resident app. The Access Pass will only appear if the community utilizes Alloy Access Bluetooth readers on their community doors. Bluetooth must be enabled on the phone in order for the pass to work.

Residents can create passes in the Resident app for guests to gain access to their unit and community. Guests will receive an SMS or email with their unit and/or community pin code. Residents can revoke guest access at any time using the Revoke Access button at the bottom of their guest credential view within the Resident app.

Disabled Schedules for APS Peak Rewards Residents - This feature ensures that residents enrolled in the APS Peak Rewards program cannot create a thermostat schedule in the Resident app. By enrolling in the program, they agreed to let APS remotely control their thermostat schedule. We have removed the “Plus” icon from the Device Detail → Schedule page and have included a message that reads: “Schedule creation is disabled because this device is being controlled remotely by the APS Peak Rewards program.”

Improved the Network Setup for Android (2.0) - Network Setup 2.0 offers a smoother user experience when connecting to WiFi or Ethernet. WiFi is encouraged over cellular because it is more reliable. The new design makes it clearer what network the resident is connecting to, and how to change networks. Network Setup 2.0 has various screen changes that direct the resident on how to connect to WiFi, or Ethernet for the first time. The user can also easily change their network settings by using the “Change network” button and following the instructions.

Added the Ability to White Label the Resident App (1.0) - You can now customize the Resident Mobile App so that residents see the property’s logo on the home dashboard of the app instead of SmartRent’s. If you would like to learn more about the Resident White Label feature, please reach out to your account manager for more details.

Added The Ability To Filter Global Activity By Date (Android) - Residents now have more options for reviewing their unit activity with the addition of the Filter By Date feature. To filter by date, the Resident clicks the filter icon in the top right-hand corner of the Global Activity View. The activity can be filtered by start/end date and will show a 7 day range. The 7 day range can be anytime in the last 30 days; however, it can not extend to a future date.

mceclip4.png

Added a Device Battery Percentage (iOS) - We have updated the Resident Mobile app so that residents can view the battery percentages of their connected devices within the app. It is now part of the device cards on the Dashboard. A Green battery represents 51-100% battery level, a Yellow battery represents 31-50% battery level, and a Red battery represents 0-30% battery level. Note: Leak sensor battery levels will only show on the device card if 0-30% (Red). If the sensor has more than 30%, the Yellow or Green status will be visible on the leak sensor page.

Updated the Device Settings Header - We have updated the Device Settings Header format so that it is consistent regardless of the device being viewed. The header now reads ”<device name> Settings” for each connected device.

mceclip5.png

Updated the Marketplace Page Layout -
The Marketplace page now presents available products/integrations in an alphabetical title format rather than a list.

Added A Pop-Up Notification to Marketplace (iOS) - Residents will now receive a pop-up when they tap on a tile within the Marketplace. The pop-up informs them that they are being redirected to a webpage outside of the SmartRent app.

mceclip6.png

Added Amazon Alexa Tile and Flow in Marketplace (Android) - Residents can now remotely control their SmartRent devices using Amazon Alexa. Tapping the new Amazon Alexa tile in Marketplace will direct the user to Amazon.com where they can enable the SmartRent skill.

Updated Google Assistant Flow in Marketplace (Android) - This update helps users navigate through the Google Assistant setup workflow from within the Marketplace. After choosing Google Assistant in the Marketplace, users who have the Google Home app installed will be directed to the Google Play Store where they can connect to SmartRent. If the user does not have the Google Home app installed, they will be instructed to download the Google Home app.

Added Ring Tile and Flow in Marketplace (Android) - Residents can now manage their Ring devices through the Resident app. Tapping the new Ring tile in Marketplace will direct the user to Ring.com where they can complete setup.

Added Fan Mode Status in Activity - Residents can now see their fan mode history in the Activity Feed and Activity Detail pages of the app. The activity will be noted as “Fan on” or “Fan auto”.

Bug Fixes

App Crashes When Attempting to Manage Access Codes - Users can now tap the gear icon on the My Access page and successfully update Access Codes without the app crashing.

App Crashes When Attempting to Close the My Access Page - Users can now successfully close the My Access page without the app crashing.

Number of Guest Codes Exceeds Predetermined Limit (Android) - This fix resolves an issue that would allow users to create additional guest codes after reaching the limit set by their community, but would not save them. Now when a user has reached the limit, the ability to create additional access codes is disabled.

Thermostat Temperature Incorrectly Shows as Celsius on Scenes Edit Page - This fix revolves an issue where thermostat temperatures were being displayed in Celsius even when set to Fahrenheit in Community Web Manager. Now thermostats will match the setting in Community Web Manager.

Access Page Doesn’t Update When Creating a Guest Access Code - When creating a guest access code, the Access page now updates to include the new guest access code.

Back Arrow Does Not Work on Schedules and Automations (Android) - The back arrow now successfully takes users to the previous page when attempting to leave the Schedules and Automations pages.

Battery Icon Loads Slowly After Changing Sensor Device Name - This fix ensures that the battery icon remains on the Device Details page after a user updates the name of a sensor.
