SmartRent 03.09.22
Brivo Integrations Migration - The Brivo Integration page, previously located on the Third Party Access Integrations tab, is now located under Integrations within the Property Settings page. This is part of a larger initiative to give you a centralized area to manage or edit all settings for your integrations.
Remove Reset Vacant Code Logic
We have removed the “Reset Code” button that is located on the “My Code” tab within the Community Level Access page. Previously, some site teams would use this as a workaround solution when a vacant access code was not working, or when their vacant access code had been compromised. This left the individual access codes split between online and offline locks, with no clear way of knowing which code was assigned, added, or confirmed to have been added to a lock.
We have added the following text, should you need to reset your code: “If your code has been compromised, please reach out to SmartRent Support for further assistance.”
Bug Fix
Viewing A Work Order with No Access After Business Hours Triggers Access Code Viewed Email
We have fixed a bug that sent an “Access Code Viewed” email when a work order was viewed after-hours, even if it did not contain an access code.
Resident Mobile 2.24.1 / Alloy SmartHome 1.16.1
Android Users Unable To Add a Guest If Provided Both an Email and Phone Number
We have identified a bug on the Android version of the Resident Mobile App and the Alloy SmartHome App. During the Guest Access Code creation process, residents have the option to provide their guest’s email address, phone number, or both for the purpose of sending the Access Code. Previously, when both email and phone were provided, the arrow to proceed to the next step would not work, preventing the resident from creating an Access Code. Now, residents can proceed with creating the Guest Access code after entering any combination of guest contact information.
Android App Crashes When Adding a Thermostat to a Scene
We have identified a bug on the Android version of the Resident Mobile App and the Alloy SmartHome App. Any time a resident would attempt to include a thermostat in a Scene, the app would crash. This has been fixed and Scenes can now support thermostats.
Android App Crashes When Visiting the Device Details screen
Crashlytics has identified a bug on the Android version of the Resident Mobile App and the Alloy SmartHome App. If the app was running in the background, and the resident opened the app to view a Device Details screen, the app would crash. This has been fixed and residents can now successfully view the Device Details screen at any time.
Self-Guided Tours 2.60 and 2.61
Features
Engrain Unit Maps for Tours 1.0 - Prospects are now able to use Unit Maps provided by Engrain during a Self-Guided Tour. Unit Maps are free property maps for SmartRent clients that are simple in design but showcase the community’s layout. By being able to view their current location on an interactive property map, prospects can easily navigate through the property and find the unit(s) they’re touring. Engrain will continue to offer Sight Maps, which are more detailed, full-color property maps, for purchase in our Marketplace. We will continue to support properties using Engrain’s legacy Embedded Sight Maps, but are no longer offering these maps for new properties.
Dashboard Enhancements - You are now able to provide access to the Tours dashboard for non-admin employees. To set up this custom permission for individual user roles, navigate to Organization Settings → Roles → Select the desired role → Scroll to Tour and select View Dashboard → Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Update.
Tour Now UI Update - Prospects looking to immediately tour a unit at a property will see "Now" as an option, if that time slot is available for the current day. We’ve removed the “Tour” and “Schedule for Later” buttons to avoid prospect confusion.
Tour URL on Prospect and Tour Tables - Users can easily access a property’s tour URL within the SmartRent platform to share with prospects by navigating to Tours → Prospects or Tours → select Copy URL to copy the link or View Tour Site to open the Tour URL.
Alloy Access 1.15
Features
View Unlock Schedule (Manager & Admin) - We have added the ability for community managers and organization admins to view unlock schedules on the Doors page. Previously, to view this information, users had to click through several areas within the Doors page. Now, listing the unlock schedule on the Doors page will improve your efficiency in managing your communities.
Video Intercom Communication Preference - We have provided the ability for Alloy Access users to set a preference on how members receive calls from intercoms. You can select from the following options found in the dropdown:
None - Exclude the intercom from calling members
Video - The intercom calls using video only
Voice - The intercom calls using voice only
Both - The intercom calls by both video and voice
If the option “Both” is selected, the call will come in via video and will be transferred to a voice call after about 10 seconds. The default setting for Alloy Intercom is set to video. To change the preference visit: Alloy Access > Site > Members > View (specific member) > Edit > Communication Preference.
Note: Properties with voice-only intercoms will not have video-related options. Previously, communities with intercoms had the option to “Hide Member from Video Intercom Directory.” Now, residents who wish to be hidden from the intercom directory should set their Video Intercom Communication Preference to “None.”
Alloy Parking 1.18 and Guest Parking Web 1.6
Features
Guest Pass 1.0 - Parking Guests - This feature allows residents to send their guests a link to Guest Parking Web, where guests register their vehicle and payment information. After guests register and have been verified with their phone number, Guest Parking Web displays access credentials so that they can park inside the gated community.
Alloy Pass 1.6
Features
Manage Multiple Access Passes (Android + iOS) - For multi-site teams, maintenance, and other users with multiple access passes, we have added the ability to select which pass should be in-use for unlocking multiple access points. Previously, users with multiple passes could not select which pass needed to be active, making it difficult to gain entry in two different locations where each required a unique credential. To activate a pass, select the Use this Pass button. The active pass will be displayed in purple, while inactive passes will be grayed out.
Background Reader Mobile Unlock (Android) - We have added the ability for Android smartphones to communicate with Alloy Access Bluetooth readers when Alloy Pass is running in the background. Previously, Android users had to open and leave the Alloy Pass App running in the foreground in order for the reader to receive the Bluetooth credentials. This feature will save users time and hassle from having to find and open the Alloy Pass App every time they need to pass through a Bluetooth reader access point.
To configure an Android device to support this feature, users will turn on their Android phone and go to System Settings → Apps → Alloy Pass → Permissions → Location and set it to “Allow all the time.”
Note: Some older Android software versions may not support this feature. This feature is already supported with iOS.
