SmartRent Release Notes - September 26, 2019 (1.47.0)
Self-Guided Tours: We are very excited to release the first version of Self-Guided Tours. In this version, we’ve created the ability for permissions-enabled leasing agents, property managers, and other site staff to create a Self-Guided Tour for and on behalf of a prospect. This first version is ideal for leasing agents and site staff on a business weekend. Through Community Manager - Web, they will be able to create a Self-Guided Tour for one or multiple units quickly and easily without having to leave the leasing office. Contact your SmartRent CSM or AE to learn more about Self-Guided Tours and how to set up this feature for each property.
Brivo Auto-Assign: For Brivo connected properties, we now have an option to automatically create a property level pin code for the resident upon move-in. This simplifies site staff work by removing any additional steps on move-in and ensures residents have access to all correct access points once moved in.
Property Access Move-In Task: We’ve added a new move-in task for Brivo connected properties called “Assigning Property Credentials.” This task will auto-complete if Brivo Auto-Assign is enabled (see above feature). Otherwise when users click “edit,” they will be prompted to add a Brivo pin or Key FOB to the resident's account. This new task greatly simplifies the staff role to ensure when residents are moved in they are granted the correct access from the beginning.
Move-In Email and SMS Tracking: In order to ensure that residents are receiving their access code link upon move-in, we’ve added additional checks to the “Send Access Code via SMS” and “Send Access Code Via Email” move-in tasks. Now, if either message fails to be delivered successfully to the resident, we will mark the task as failed and prompt the user for a new email and/or phone number.
SmartStart Support: As a way to support adding and installing new devices, we’ve laid the groundwork for SmartStart support within Community Manager - Web. This new installation process allows the users to scan a code or enter a SmartStart ID and automatically connect a new device. This will greatly simplify the staff and resident process for adding new devices to their account.
IMPROVEMENTS
We’ve removed the default permissions for maintenance when adding a new role.
We’ve renamed Move-In tasks to be more user-friendly and understandable.
We’ve renamed Move-Out tasks to be more user-friendly and understandable.
We’ve updated the Grant Resident Unit Access Move-in task as well as the Remove Resident Access Move-out task to fail after five (5) minutes of attempting to add the code to the lock. Users can then repair the hub/lock to ensure a resident specific access code is successfully added to the lock. An exception and notification will be sent (if enabled).
We’ve expanded the notifications for After Hours alerts. Before, we limited the notification to backup code usage, but now we have expanded that to include work order access codes as well as vacant staff codes. This ensures that site staff can fully monitor and manage staff members on site after business hours.
FIXED
We’ve fixed an issue where in some cases recurring guest access codes created by residents were not being removed from the lock successfully. This fix applies retroactively.
We fixed a bug that was occasionally attempting to replace access codes when the lock installation was still listed as “In Progress.”
We’ve fixed a bug with schedules which caused them to run a minute late due to saving the seconds upon creation.
We’ve improved the lock statuses for failed removals to give a better indication of the issue.
We’ve made some updates to the hub health report to prevent crashes, incorrect results, and speed.
We’ve fixed support for Scenes including a thermostat where only one mode (heat or cool) was supported.
