Community Manager - Web
New Features
Auto-Closed Work Orders Notifications - We’ve added the ability for property staff to receive SMS or Email notifications when a work order is automatically closed. This feature will help site teams maintain visibility and accountability for work orders our system creates. Although they are off by default, if SMS or Email notifications are enabled for that property staff member when a work order is automatically closed they will be alerted.
Organization admins can follow these steps to configure this setting follow these steps…
Property Settings > Staff Settings > Notification Settings
Select “Auto-Closed Work Order Notification Settings”
Enable/Disable notifications on a per role basis for both Email or SMS
By default, all boxes are unchecked (disabled)
Activity Logs for Security System Events - For increased device activity tracking and security, Activity 2.0 is expanding its support for security system device tracking. We now provide activity tracking for the following security events for contact or motion sensors…
Security is set to Armed/Disarmed by App
Security is set to Armed/Disarmed by Web
Security is set to triggered
Security state of “Triggered” is closed
Brivo Manager Guest Codes Now Can Grant Property Access - When a Manager Guest Code for a vacant unit is created and the property has Brivo/Property access enabled, a Brivo user record and credential will be created for that user. This credential will act the same way a resident invited guest credential would. The same notifications are generated and this will allow the guest to access the property and unit.
Brivo Migration Station- To provide an interface that allows site teams and internal teams to be able to link Community Manager Web resident records to a Brivo record we’ve added and improved the data provided to make the connection more clear, likewise, we’ve made significant page speed improvements to aid in completing the task more efficiently.
Community Access for Prospects - For clients that are using Brivo/Property access controls, we have added the ability to automatically create community access codes for prospects. If this setting is enabled in the Brivo settings we will create a prospect record when a tour has been scheduled and provide them with a community access code in the Tours UI. Once a tour has been completed we will then remove this credential and delete the prospects Brivo record.
Property Access - Custom Unit Group Types - Custom Unit Groups work by creating custom groups of residents, guests or deliveries in multi-building apartment communities and then limiting them from gaining access to buildings they shouldn’t be in. This increases the security of the property by limiting access to select buildings for select users only. For example, if you’d like guests of building A to only have access to building A, or if wish deliveries for floor 3 should not have access to the penthouse suites. To create a custom unit group within the Unit Group Management settings Organization Admins can now select from a dropdown list “Residents, Guests, Delivery” and select the applicable units for that particular group.
Reset Installer Codes 24 hours after Installations - For enhanced security we now are rotating installer access codes. 24 hours after a unit has had a lock installed and been marked as complete we will automatically reset the installer codes on that unit.
Internal New
Shade Slider Support - We now include a slider as a way of controlling the level of a device prior to completing the installation which now allows devices to property sync attributes with Community Manager Web during pairing. The slider has the ability to control the level of multi-level devices such as dimmer switches, dimmer plugs, light bulbs, and smart shades. Now, both physically manipulating the device, as well as using the Slider toggle in the Web App will satisfy the “Level” check and allow installers to mark the device installation as “Complete” with less hassle.
Display Cancel Button for Device Inclusion - We now allow Community Manager installers to click a “Cancel” button during device inclusion if the request appears to be hanging and not discovering devices. A message will appear saying “Exclusion Cancelled” if the button is clicked.
Don't Record Device Activity During Installation - For a more accurate device activity log, we no longer record device activity occurring during installations. This avoids excess activity logs happening when pairing/re-pairing devices and testing attributes. Keeping activity logs relevant to only activity occurring after successful installations.
Property Management Sync - Venterra Integration - SmartRent now integrates with Venterra. Venterra is a Multi-Family operator that is creating custom integration for SmartRent to sync residents, units, and properties. Venterra is now listed within the Property Manager level settings for imports.
Improvements
Harmonize the Verbiage around Maintenance - We’ve made improvements to our verbiage regarding maintenance and work orders throughout Community Manager Web to provide consistent nomenclature around work orders. The changes are as follows...
Dashboard = Maintenance
Search = Maintenance
What’s Happening = Work Orders
Maintenance Page = group name - Maintenance
Unit Maintenance Page = unit name - Maintenance
User's Assigned Groups Sorting - To eliminate users spending extra time auditing what properties they are assigned to the dashboard will now display the user’s assigned properties at the top of the list under a title called “Assigned Properties” followed by a list called “Unassigned Properties” underneath.
Custom Email Subject Lines - As an added improvement to our custom email template that was featured in our 1.57.0 release, we now allow the ability for properties to include custom subject lines in all of their email templates for a fully tailored resident experience.
Bug Fixes
Guest Code Shown as ***** - We’ve Fixed a bug where the guest code was not populating when hovering over the security asterisk. Now hovering over this will display the guest code.
Groups Permission Bug Fix - We’ve resolved an error that was preventing Property Managers from being able to assign a new group if they had recently unassigned groups in Org Admin.
Fix Lockless Configuration Bugs - Lockless Configuration was a new feature implemented in 1.57.0’s release, we have since made several improvements and completed bug fixes to help the workflow and consistency of properties using the lockless configuration feature.
Occupied Unit Remove Scenes/Automations - When a unit becomes occupied in Community Manager Web we now remove any scenes, schedules, and automations previously implemented for that unit.
Self- Guided Tours
Tour Cancelled Reason Webhook - As part of our webhooks feature we’ve added support for a “Tour Cancelled Reason” webhook. If a property is subscribed to this webhook when this particular event is triggered the property can obtain a record of canceled tours, as well as if the tour was “Rescheduled by Prospect”.
Tour Custom Messages - In the Tour Settings within Community Manager Web we now have a section for Custom Messaging. When custom messaging is configured the prospect will be able to see the custom text during their Self Guided Tour experience. The custom message will be available 30 minutes prior to the start of the tour and removed at the end of the tour time. This feature can be used to show building or gate codes, or enhance the prospect’s tour experience by providing access to view amenities or receive a catered welcome message from the property staff.
Tour Settings Permissions - We’ve added Tour Settings level permissions that will allow roles with these permissions to manage and update their property’s tour settings. This helps with larger clients who have multiple roles but do not want to solely rely on Organization Admin access across all other Community Manager related settings. This is only for Tours Settings this permission update will not allow access to other Community Manager Web settings. To access this follow these steps…
Under the Prospect Resource there is a new permission labeled “Manage Tour Settings”
